The sniper was alarmed by the shadow, and turned around to see that it was what he feared - a werewolf.
Three of them in fact.
He only had 4 shots left in his rifle, and he did not hesitate to use them. His sniper rifle was a .50 caliber rifle, and a meter and a half long. It was designed to penetrate heavy body armor, and could punch through the engine block of lightly armored vehicles at range.
And at close range, the first bullet was enough to put down the first two werewolves. But the third one rushed him, and was too close to use the rifle. He tried to work the bolt action rifle, then reached for his pistol as the wolf landed on top of him, and proceeded to maim him in revenge.
It only took a few minutes for the werewolf to do its duties, and walked away to leave him to bleed to death. It was in this moment that he reached for his pistol, and tried to shoot the wolf, and succeeded.
Now, he lay on his hill dying from loss of blood. He rolled over to his right, and watched the chaos below, his vision blurring as blood dripped from his forehead into one of his eyes.
In the distance, he could see and hear 7-8 helicopters rapidly approaching. They soon flew over head, and he realized that these were probably some of the international anti-terrorist units that were being flown in, far too late to reclaim the campus in a rapid strike.
The helicopters flew over head, their side doors open. The last thing the sniper saw before he died was the door gunners belching fire from their heavy machine guns onto the rioters below. Werewolves and some friendly troops fell before the onslaught, the helicopters circled several times before he finally passed away...
The enemies that had survived retreated, and there were still a good two to three thousand rioter civillians left. The military survivors prepared a very poor perimeter defense around the campus, and another defense within the campus. This was because their were still werewolves on the campus and in the buildings...
The helicopters touched down in some clear areas, adding another 84 ready to fight, battle hardened soldiers, as well as the pilots and door gunners of the helicopters.
Reinforcements started rolling through the town a few hours later, but were ambushed and captured.
Soldiers eventually had to be flown in along with equipment. The perimeters were reinforced, and the soldiers prepared for a new attack. At the same time, the 7 dozen International specialists prepared to move through the buildings on the campus to root out werewolves and hostages.
A terrible darkness was growing as night fell, and strong winds began to pick up again...
And in the town, the werewolves were beginning to lay siege to the Campus fortress. At the same time, they were making plans to spread their selves and their transformations across the land...
