“Lowa?” Kaitlin asks. Laura’s jaw drops. It really is her friend!
“Kaitlin!” Laura says excitedly. Kaitlin drops the blocks and tackles Laura in a tight embrace. “What are you doing here?”
“Powice picked me up,” Kaitlin says with a shrug. She sits back on the ground, obviously not concerned about the mess in her diaper. “They keep me tonight because they no know my family.” She cocks her head curiously. “How you talk so good?”
“I’m not really a toddler,” Laura explains. “I’m six.”
“Why you dressed like that, then?” Kaitlin lifts the skirt of Laura’s dress and pokes at her diaper cover. “You no need diapy, why wear it?”
“I got in a sticky situation where I had to disguise myself, and the easiest thing to do was to dress up like a toddler.”
“Ah.” Kaitlin gestures at her own diaper. “I wear diapy for fwee day now. Tough to change on own. A bit glad someone change for me.”
“I was wondering why you didn’t seem to care about using your diaper,” Laura confesses. Kaitlin shrugs.
“No wike at beginning, but got used to it. Diapy better than pooping on clothes.”
“That’s a good point,” Laura says. There’s a soft hiss from Kaitlin. “Um, did you just?”
“Yep. Me peepee. Weally need change.”
“Maybe we can swap stories really quick, because I want to know how you got turned into a toddler,” Laura says. Kaitlin nods.
