After a minute of heavy thinking, Ekaterina had came to the conclusion that there really wasn't a downside to either option. She herself didn't mind being a test subject, given that that is what had started this chain of events that had gotten her all the way to here in the first place. And if it started out as just dating, maybe she could come to love the idea of being a wife, and not a husband, to Camilla, who would instead be her husband, so to speak. However, the longer she imagined what that life would involve, the more she liked the idea. And since that was the case, it meant that she had an easy answer. "I accept both offers. I want to be both your girlfriend and test subject. And I would consider our marriage as a serious potential outcome, actually I am already leaning slightly towards the acceptance side, but I would like to get to know you better before."
"Ekaterina could visibly watch Camilla's some what embarrassed expression lighten up into an extremely happy smile. "Are you sure! I am so happy! This... this is amazing. I finally have a girlfriend! And she actually accepts me as a hermaphrodite. Hahaha, Thank you. I promise to do my best and not be a shitty partner. Come here and let me hug you. No wait, let me go to you, you still are in recovery."
Ekaterina smiled and slowly shifted in her bed to let Camilla wrap her arms gently around her. "So, who does it feel to become Ekaterina Merris, Dr. Camilla Merris's fiancee?"
"Warm, and a bit exciting, but also very rushed. That being said, I think I am actually fine with a bit of rush."
It was then the doors opened and 2 newborns, well, one of which looked to be a few months old already, were brought in. Both girls were sleeping. The nurse handed them to their mother. "So now that you are awake, we are all very curious. What are their names?"
This was something she had been certain of already for months now. "The older sister is Minerva Belladonna, and the younger sister is Arachne Angelise."
"Well, those are not the most common of names, but ok." Commented the nurse, a bit taken back by the unusually rare name choices. She was no where even close with her own guesses of Anna and Tina. However what she absolutely wasn't ready for was how Dr. Camilla Merris reacted. She had always know her to be a rather quiet, but brilliant person with one of the smartest minds in the hospital. Yes this image of her was all but shattered.
"Those are amazing names! And to prove it, look at this." Dr. Camilla Merris went over to her lab coat which she had set down on a near by chair and pulled a slip of paper from the pocket and showed it to the room. On it was written 2 names. Minerva and Angelise.
"Wait, did you both coordinate something? There is no way this is not a set up. Argued the nurse.
"I just met her today. And I wrote these 3 days ago, you were even there when I did it." Pointed out Camilla.
"I was there, but I never saw what you wrote. Ahhhh, whatever. Minerva Belladonna and Arachne Angelise it is. I will inform the others as well as see too it that the proper paperwork is completed. And congratulations ma'am on your successful pregnancy." With that the nurse excused herself and left.
"Did you really pick those names?" Ekaterina asked.
"I did. But I will admit that I did so because you were mumbling a bit in your sleep, and I pieced together these 2 names." Admitted Camilla.
"So you did cheat."
"No. No. No one said that those were it. They could have been anyone's names, or even a misunderstanding of a word you mumbled. You did sleep talk quite a bit."
"Whatever, if you say so. Would you like to hold one? Here take Minerva."
The rest of the hour was spent holding the babys. Camilla informed Ekaterina that in 2 days, her recovery should be complete and she can move into her new home. After that, a nurse reminded Camilla that there were still important matters to inform Ekaterina about.
