Thankfully, the person watching Leah is Tina. Without saying a word, Tina picks Leah up and brings her to the bathroom for another change.
“This one is pretty good, but one of the other brands might be better,” Tina remarks as she wipes Leah down. She tapes on a fresh diaper. “After you test this, there’s just one left for you to try.” Leah nods. She closes her eyes in concentration. There’s a soft hiss. “Peeing already, huh?”
“I didn’t go all the way earlier on purpose,” Leah explains. Tina squeezes the diaper, inspecting how it holds up.
“Well, don’t forget, I need you to poop as well,” Tina says, poking Leah’s nose. “Do you want to do that now, too?”
“I can try.” Leah clenches her muscles, pushing as hard as possible. A small fart comes out, but that’s it. “I can’t go number two yet.”
“I’ll get you another snack. That should fill the tank up again. I imagine you want to get this over with.”
“You’re right,” Leah mumbles. Tina buckles her into the stroller, then pushes her down the baby aisle. She gives Leah another box of crackers, but this time, a regular kind. Leah finishes the snack and tries to poop again. Nothing happens. “Can you give me some laxatives?”
“Sure. This’ll be great, since I need to make sure this brand works anyways.” Tina prepares a bottle of baby formula with laxative in it. She hands it to Leah, who quickly guzzles it down.
