The Magic Shop

Father to Daughter

Robert walked up to the front desk of the Daisies Daycare. A divorced father, he had split custody of his son, Robert Jr. And he hated every minute he spent with the three-year-old Junior. So whenever he had custody, Junior went to daycare.

“I’m here to drop off Junior,” Robert said to the young woman behind the desk. He winked at her flirtatiously. “But I wouldn’t mind picking you up.” The woman shifted uncomfortably.

“Well, I’ll go ahead and check Junior in,” she said diplomatically. The owner of the daycare, Daisy herself, witnessed this interaction and frowned.

“Say, do you guys have a bathroom I could use?” Robert asked. “Coffee goes right through you, y’know?”

“Yes, it’s right over there,” the receptionist said, pointing. “We just remodeled.”

“Great, so it doesn’t smell like piss and shit yet,” Robert remarked. He sauntered over to the bathroom and entered. The door didn’t lock, but he didn’t mind if someone caught a look at his pride and joy. But first, he needed to drop a deuce.

Robert sat on the toilet. As he did so, there was a strange sensation, like hands were caressing his body. One second, he was on the toilet seat. The next, he was on the floor on his back, feeling like invisible hands were diapering him. Once the strange sensation passed, he sat up. The door to the bathroom opened.

“Roberta, you’re too little to use the big girl potty,” Daisy scolded, picking him, or rather her, off the floor. Roberta stared at Daisy, shocked, not sure what just happened. “You’re too little to even use the little potty! You just let us know when you need a change, okay?”

Daisy carried Roberta out of the bathroom. Roberta was beginning to wonder if she was insane, but felt more confident that she wasn’t imagining things when she saw the startled look on the receptionist’s face.

“Play with your big brother, honey,” Daisy instructed, setting Roberta on the floor next to Junior. Roberta stared in horror, not at her former son, who was now bigger than her, but rather at her reflection in a nearby mirror. Gone was the sly businessman, replaced by a Latina toddler girl that resembled Julio, her ex-wife’s new boyfriend. She was wearing a frilly, pink dress that was too short to even begin to cover the thick diaper she had around her waist.

To add insult to injury…
