Ty's Power

New Perspective

added by Anonymous 2 years ago O

Taylor stared at the ceiling. Her body felt numb, actually, it still feels numb, ever since a frigging goddess dragged her to someplace outside of the universe and then tossed her back! Judging by the clock when Taylor was unceremoniously thrown back, barely a second had passed between the wish and getting returned.

“What the hell is my life…” Taylor rubbed her face, the conversation replaying in her mind over and over for an hour now. While an answer, this was not one she had been expecting…sort of – there were ideas, child of a god, chosen one, magic dragons’ offspring, etc., but that a giant (and kind of beautiful) space lady would be the cause was not exactly on the list.

Of course, now Taylor knows the source…and the mission expected of her.

“Righting the balance…how does one do that...” Taylor sat up and stared at the full moon outside of her window. The starry night sky reminding her off the being just outside of the universe.

‘And know that someday, maybe tomorrow, maybe fifty years from now, I will take the power back, so it's not a burden you'll carry forever.’ Taylor recalled the words, “What a hoot, like that one old time cinematic where a guy was given god like abilities to save the world, only to be stripped of them after he saved it. Nuts.”

But that begs the question: where exactly should she start? Just wishing for a balance does not mean it will happen as such, possibly even making things worse – all those Saturday morning cartoons and their morals of ‘not cutting corners’ do have some semblance of truth into them. One shouldn’t half-ass a mission when having god-like abilities.

As dark clouds started rolling in, signaling a storm, Taylor wished the bad weather in the upcoming week away, rather making the temperature an early autumn for the closest time being.

“Maybe I should start closer to home?” Taylor ponders as the last of the storm clouds turn into thin wisps, “And then work my way up? Or maybe from a slight distance, to see how well this is going… or just take one day at a time…” With a groan she threw herself back into her bed, “Screw it, I’ll just sleep on it for now and see what happens in the morning. I wish I was ready for bed and falling asleep.”

Tomorrow brings new opportunities…
