I couldn't give him the satisfaction of seeing me go to the authorities. I had to get on with my life. Besides, he'll get bored with this sooner or later, move on to a
victim that responds. I'll just ruin his fun. However, I wasn't about to stop my nighttime vigil. It had been effective, or so it seemed. There were no new things
disturbed when I had awoke, so he must have tried for somebody easier last night. Maybe tonight, I'd actually be awake, so the cops could nail him when he came.
I went to work. Everybody was abuzz about the killings. There wasn't one person that didn't have his or her own theory on them. It was hard on me, I mean I
couldn't tell them what had happened. The theories ranged from the simple to the bizarre. One guy even thought it could be a werewolf. What a weirdo, huh? That
day at work was almost unbearable. People just wouldn't stop talking about it. However, it was over sooner than I'd have expected. I guess with all those things
preoccupying my mind, it just went quickly. When I returned home, I ate a sparse meal. I just wasn't that hungry. To tell the truth, I felt almost sick. This guy was
really getting to me. I reassembled the door barricade and tried to stay awake. The exact thing happened as the previous night, drowsiness overtaking me quickly. I
awoke, thankfully, in the morning. This time I noticed again that the barricade was disassembled. This wasn't just a trivial detail, this guy was playing with me! I
found another note on the door. It read, "Hah. You know you're sorry now, bitch. You probably don't even know what I've done, do you?"
