A young girl beamed as she made her way through the beach. She carried a towel, sunscreen, and a small cooler that contained ice-cold drinks. Her long blonde hair was pulled back into a ponytail and seemed to reflect the sunlight like a crown. For once in her life, she felt like a princess as her bikini proudly showcased her belly, legs, and feet.
Samantha was once an obese girl during most of her years of high school. Whenever she wasn’t being ignored by the boys, Samantha would be teased and joked about by the girls, with the bullying getting especially bad in the locker room. It was after a particularly brutal junior year that Samantha decided to take matters into her own hands.
For three months, Samantha experimented with a diet that she found online called “the mermaid diet.” She wouldn’t eat for many days in a row and, once her hunger invariably came back, she would eat mackerel, herring, sardines, and bluefish; A lot of seafood in one meal. By the time she went back to school to begin her last year of high school, she lost around 25 pounds.
As her senior year went on, Samantha lost more and more weight. Her lunch periods would consist of ditching the school’s reheated slop in favor of spending time in her school’s swimming pool.
Once she finally walked the stage during graduation, Samantha looked like a completely different person. She had a beautiful body and had a promising future ahead of her.
The day before she went to the beach, while taking a walk near a strip mall, she found an adorable ruby red bikini that seemed just right for her. She went inside and eagerly picked it out before walking towards a kind-looking old lady behind the cash register.
“How much for the bikini, miss?” Samantha asked.
The only lady chuckled. “Oh my, I haven’t worn that thing since I was your age. I’m much too old to have any use for it now. Feel free to have it at no cost!”
Samantha blinked. “Wait, it’s free? No way, this has to cost something.”
The lady smiled. “Summer’s already quite an expensive time for you young folk. I’m sure the drinks and towels cost money for the beach, right?
“Yeah, but…”
“Consider the clothing a bonus for your trouble, dear. Enjoy yourself. Live out your youth while you still can.” The lady reached into her pocket and revealed a pair of dentures. “Time won’t last forever.”
Chuckling, Samantha nodded and took her leave, with the brand new bikini in her hands.
It really was a nice swimsuit, though and felt very comfortable as she laid out her beach towel on the sand and opened up her cooler. She laid on the soft fabric and sighed after taking a cool sip of lemonde, letting the sun warm her petite body.
“This is life.” She thought with a grin.
After about half an hour of sunbathing, Samantha decided to get up and head for the water. She stretched out her body, further showcasing her lovely body to the world before she would eventually hit the water.
Little did Samantha know, she began to dip her toes in wet sand, that her body would soon undergo another change, and a fishy one at that.
