So at 6 that evening Simon found herself as "Monica" accompanying "Mom" out to dinner. Somehow "Mom" had coaxed her into a dress. She wore a sleeveless yellow trench dress and "Mom" had helped her with her makeup. She had even been coaxed into wearing some modest heels. It was remarkable how comfortable she felt and she seemed to have an innate ability to walk in the heels.
They went to a local Chinese restaurant where it appeared the two of them were known. The Chinese waitress clearly knew them both and greeted them with a brief hug. Simon was once more stunned by how different touching someone now felt. Instantly she knew this waitress, Ami was her name and she had two primary aged children.
"Mom" gave her smile, knowing what Simon was going through. "Mom" also suggested the drink and meal that "Monica" would like. Simon found the duck delicious.
She enjoyed the evening and as they were heading home how realized she had not once felt out of place. She told "Mom" how she felt at home in Monica's body.
'You will find that is the case with any body you occupy. That is why it is so easy to become that person. You acquire mannerisms, memories and lusts of the person's body you have. I'm guessing that right now you are very much a heterosexual woman. I'm guessing you noticed the fellow on the table near the door?'
Simon found herself blushing 'He was rather tall and handsome'.
'He was wasn't he?'
'So your saying once I get my own body back I'll be a hetero male once more?'
'You sure will. And I'll be ready and waiting for you'
They headed home where Monica made "Monica" her favorite cocktail. 'That's really nice. I used to find your drinks way too sweet'
'Well you now have my taste buds'
'Should I try shapeshifting again?'
'Totally up to you. Just don't be disappointed if it doesn't work. It took me weeks to work out how to stay shifted for more than a minute at a time. Actually why don't you try shifting into this form? I always found Mom the easiest person to change into. I feel so comfortable in this body'
'So I just close my eyes and think of what it felt like to touch you?'
'Well you don't need to close your eyes. It just removes distractions'
However Simon had already closed her eyes and she was thinking of the warm comfortable feeling she had experienced when she had touched Monica earlier. She found it very easy to recall. She took that feeling and spread it throughout her body. She heard a gasp from "Mom"
Simon opened her eyes. She looked down. She was still "Monica" 'What happened?'
'You changed! It was only for a second. But you changed into this body. I shouldn't have gasped. It distracted you. But you did it! You are a shapeshifter!'
Simon felt proud. 'Let me try again. I'll try and become myself' She closed her eyes and recalled the feeling she had when she had touched the "Simon" body when Monica had been wearing it. She did recall the feeling but couldn't extend it through her body. Her imagination couldn't get past the recollection of seeing Simon's penis. That immediately resulted in that moist feeling in her groin' She opened her eyes knowing that she had not changed when Monica's voice came out of her mouth 'Did anything happen at all?'
'Sorry, not even a shimmer this time. But don't worry you will soon learn the knack. Give it a break. We can try again in the morning when you are well rested'
Together they remade Monica's bed, putting fresh sheets on and cleaning up the remains of Simon's shell. The new Monica took herself to bed, having no hesitation about wearing a nightgown. "Mom" spent the night in the master bedroom. While in their current bodies they had no inclination to share a bed.
