Looking down, I noticed a line of black ants crossing the patio. Pointing the device at them, I clicked to scan, watching them scatter as the intense beam hit them. The image of an ant appeared on the screen and I contemplated what to try next.
Highlighting the lower body of the insect, I paused and then dismissed it - I wanted to keep my tail a bit longer. Scrolling up to the head I thought about going for some antennae, but then I realized what I should really try: extra limbs! I highlighted the middle of the ants six arms, pointed the device at my stomach, closed my eyes and pulled the trigger.
I could see the flash even through my eyelids, and my beak opened with a gasp as air whooshed from my lungs. My torso was tingling, and I quickly set the device down and raised my t-shirt up to see what was happening. On the sides of my ribs my skin was writhing, small bumps protruding before rapidly pushing out into long, thin limbs. They were dark and segmented, about as long as my human arms and ending in delicate claws. I wiggled them, marveling at their dexterity and my control over them.
"This is freaking amazing!" I laughed, wrapping my ant-legs around my midsection. "What can I add next?!"
