Doll 1 and Doll 36 worked tirelessly on modifying their old equipment after Maya had overloaded it ceasing the natural cascade. Both had played way too many zombie video games, from the point of view of the zombies, to not know what was going to come next.
In a normal horror survival game, the zombies were an army in number, ammo was scarce, and humans were more likely to attack each other than the zombies.
In a video game where you played the zombies, well, you couldn't count on humans deciding to shoot each other rather than you, and EVERYONE owned a gun.
"A quantum back-up state in case government agencies try to go back and time and erase us from existence?" Doll 1 asked.
"Check." Doll 0 answered reading off a list. Their collective intelligence made such things unneeded, but it was good to keep up appearances.
"A dimensional lance to tunnel us back to the rest of reality in case government agencies try to pickle us?"
"Check. In beta."
"How is the testing going in case we have to deal with good old fashioned bullets and stinger missiles?"
"Our own memories of the new reality show we're immune to small arms fire. But none of that will mean anything if they decide to drop an atomic bomb on us and say it was an asteroid," said doll 36.
"Alright. We'll send out some of our sisters out in every direction. If we're too far spread, they won't be able to cover it up nearly as easily with memory modifying equipment. The good news is that more of us there are, the more our existence is reinforced and we become more and more 'normal' as far as humans are concerned."
"Done. sisters sent out, listed as 'mannequins' to be shipped out to the surrounding cities and international if they can make it. And a few who are just taking the bus. Also arranged for some of our sisters to be 'stolen' and end up on the black market. Also sending out multiple real mannequin shipments as a smoke screen."
"We can't rely on simple melee contact to spread our transformation. There's a reason that armies stopped giving out spears to infantry centuries ago. They likely think we'll try to use our sheer numbers to mob rush them... like generals threw their own armies at machine guns in World War 1 over and over again expecting different results. ... Since we can now spread our transformation to unliving objects, if we transform rubber bullets and foam toy guns, they won't be expecting us to arm ourselves. Have the police dolls keep up patrols FOR WHEN, not if, government agencies show up. The police Dolls aren't legally people, but like a stop sign or a police drone, they legally represent orders from authorities that are to be obeyed."
"... That is NOT going to stop any government agencies."
"Of course not. But if they brute force their way through, we'll have a precedent of the government destroying public property without cause. Also, the news dolls should keep the cameras rolling and run pieces on what a great place to living Pleasant Hills, aka Plastic Hills is to live... we want lots, and lots of tourist families! And make sure to keep the individual recordings from cell phones running, and upload them to show government agent trashing random dolls for no good reason. Don't trust the mainsteam networks, the underground ones are less vulnerable to government censorship... We are NOT becoming just another file in a beige folder labeled under 'singularities that got too big for their breeches'!"
"Also... removed the bug that caused our transformation to always be sexualized in nature... I'm not having our brave new world be nothing but brainless hedonism. Also there are way too many unfortunate implications since we're trying to convert humanity as a whole."
"Unfortunate implications to WHO?" Doll 36 exasperated.
"Even if government agencies don't stop us, you can bet there are cosmic forces out there who will come down on us like a hammer if our transformation is sexualized and it inevitably spreads to places that would be in bad taste for it BEING sexualized. It needed to go for the greater good."
