“Ugh!” Maggie and Taylor clearly heard the most annoyed and disgusted tone ever produced by a human somewhere just a bit away, “What are those freaks doing out in public?!”
“Don’t they realize what they are doing is wrong?!”
Taylor broke the kiss just a little bit to whisper, “Still newts?”
“Yes, dear. Newt them all.” Taylor snorted at the world-play and got to work. The two enraged entitled women started to shrink, shrivel and shift when they seemed to have hit the top note, shrieking in surprise by their changes, even if nobody else seems to notice anything strange about them, some even passing by without giving the panicking women a glance. The clothes disappeared before even hitting the ground, the new newts scattering to the winds as they skedaddled towards the grass and safety.
While expected, the mood was sill ruined, so Maggie and Taylor got up, hand-in-hand, and proceeded to walk around a bit, enjoying the company and wondering what next to do.
“I’m wondering about the families of those changed newts…”
“Yeah, took a look. Turns out one is an abusive gold-digger, so now the guy is in a much better relationship and the other was a flighty woman who married one, but had another’s kid, but without her in the picture, they got together and the kid now has two dads. So, it all turned out fine for them.” Taylor explained.
“Hmm…it always works out, huh?” Maggie giggled and gave Taylor a peck – which caused someone to gag at them, which resulted in them turning into a cute fluffy puppy of the family.
“Without toxic people in the world, it certainly does go better than expected. Although,” Taylor gave Maggie a slight look, “You’ve never been so eager for me to do my thing before.”
“True, but I also didn’t really want anything to change. Besides,” Maggie giggled, “You seem to be having fun too!”
Taylor hummed in agreement, “It has been a while since I’ve done things just for the fun of it, what with the mission and all.”
“Well, I’m glad to give you some proper reprieve from the madness.”
“You are my angel, my love.”
Maggie snorted, “That was so cheesy!”
“But you love it!” The two laughed and hugged at that.
The town wasn’t the biggest, so the two eventually ended up in the downtown district, where the nightlife was getting started.
Maggie looked at the setting sun with a wistful expression, “The night is young…oh, wouldn’t our families worry about us?”
“I made sure they wouldn’t notice anything odd, so we are in the clear. And if it makes you worry, we can pop back in time back home, if you wish.” Taylor offered, watching as Maggie proceeded to look very cute as she thought it over, her pointer finger tapping on her chin, before smiling mischievously.
“Well…if you can change time like that…then we can probably spend some more time out and about,” Maggie pressed her changed body against Taylor, “I always did want to see what’s so great about nightclubs. Hmm?”
