Ricki smiled at her twin sister Vicki as the camera chirped and the picture slowly slid out of it. “It turned out so good!” she said happily. The girls had gotten to the restaurant extra early and now were waiting for their boyfriends to arrive for date night. Ricki’s boyfriend Scott was a paramedic, so scheduling dates was always tricky with his erratic schedule. It had just been her good luck that her twin sister Vicki had her own date with her boyfriend Nick tonight and had offered to make it a double date. The girls had gone all out for it—Ricki wore a tight black dress which contrasted nicely with her red hair and emphasized her rather large breasts, while her auburn haired sister wore an equally tight sky blue dress.
The girls happily chattered away about how their lives were going—Ricki worked as a secretary and Vicki was a waitress at a bar, so she was really enjoying being waited on for a change. Ricki had placed her phone on silent when they’d got to the restaurant, and decided to idly check it to see if there was a text from Scott letting her know that the guys were getting to the restaurant on time. She saw she’d had a missed call from her friend Marion, who was stuck babysitting her little sister tonight. Probably just bored of out her mind and wanting to talk, Ricki thought. She’d call her back later.
Finally, she got a text from Scott letting her know that the guys had arrived for date tonight. A minute or so later a member of the waitstaff ushered Scott and Nick into the back room they were waiting in. Scott was a muscular blond guy with a smile which always made Ricki go weak at the knees, especially when he was dressed up in a nice suit like tonight. He was a couple years older than her— she and her sister were nineteen, while he was twenty three. Her sister’s boyfriend Nick was just as muscular(he and Scott had apparently become friends when they’d met at the gym) had brown hair, and almost looked uncomfortable being all dressed up. He worked at a store which specialized in selling “retro” style equipment, so the girls figured he’d be interested in taking a look at the camera later.
The date night was going well— the restaurant had a really good reputation in the local community for excellent food, and the waiters were attentive and quick at bringing them their food and drinks. Ricki was having a really great time, which made her wish that they could go out more often. If only Scott’s schedule wasn’t so busy, she thought with a sigh.
About halfway through the night Ricki finally remembered the camera, which she pulled out and showed to the guys. Scott thought it was interesting-looking but didn’t care too much, but Nick was fascinated. This thing was much different looking than other Polaroids he’d seen at work. Curious to see what kind of photo it would produce, he suggested asking their waiter to take a group picture with it, which the others agreed seemed like it could be a cool idea
Their waiter was surprised that they wanted a group photo on this old camera rather than one of their phones, but shrugged it off. It wasn’t a big deal after all, and could even mean a larger tip. Stepping back, he aimed the camera at the group and took a picture.
