William was your average high schooler. He had good grades, normal friends, and even participated in after school activities. Everything was normal until a certain day arrived.
Walking home one night, he witnessed two people fighting over something. Out of nowhere, one of the men was stabbed and he fell into William’s arms.
William panicked and struggled to catch the man. This would later lead to multiple finger prints on him. Turning around, the other man was already gone. There wasn’t a single trace of him.
He removed the man’s clothes and started to use them on the wound. To William, it was common knowledge to restrain the source of bleeding by using clothes. He learned many things from video games and Japanese cartoons.
“Thank you! But this won’t stop the bleeding. It’s something you won’t understand.”
“I know, but doctors will! Let me call them!” William pulled out his phone but was interrupted. The man shook his head and opened his hand. It was a necklace with a metallic light blue orb. “Take this, and run away from this town! Change your identity and run!”
“But you’re injured and it isn’t good! You’ll die unless I call for help!” In the distance, police sirens could be heard. William laid the man down and ran off. He kept running until he reached his neighborhood. Sadly, he wasn’t in the clear.
In front of his house were police cars. The door was broken into and police were exiting the house. He knew his home wasn’t safe, but he couldn’t figure out how the police got there so fast.
His only way to safety was to hide. He knew it was stupid idea to hide in the nearby woods, but it was easier for him since it’s harder for the police to find him.
He ran away. With only the things he had in his pocket and backpack, he made his way to the forest. When it became night time, that’s when William struggled.
Slowly walking down a steep hill, William lost his balance and started to trip and fall. Luckily a branch caught his bag, but he slipped through. When he reached the ground, it was too far to climb back up. This meant that he isn’t getting his bag back unless he can climb the tree.
William didn’t want to bother since the bag only had note books and dirty gym clothes. So he continued into the woods.
His phone died a while ago so William couldn’t tell what time it was. All he knew was that the moon wasn’t directly above him. As he kept going, his eyes began to get heavy. He kept walking until he reached a road. But before he could cross the road, he collapsed from exhaustion. His last thought before going to sleep was, “why did my life become like this? I wish I didn’t have to deal with these struggles anymore!”
