Authors note: I've had an idea that I've been turning over in my head and want to try. It will involve characters I've used in previous Ring of Age stories. Feel free to add to this and enjoy.
It had been 80 years since the War of the Timelines. A war that saw Karie and her time displaced mother Kellie defeat a timeline conquering titan before rescueing the next generation of wizards.
In the end, they were able to succeed. The next generation in time grew into accomplished wizards and witches, having families of their own, living their lives in peace, and passing peacefully into the next life.
Yuriko Mishimuro, the former Yuriko Harris, was now an old woman. For the now elderly wizard she had grown up happy, protected by not only her friends and family but her magical guardians as well.
The kitsune, Akira, his succubus wife Ayami, and the witch familiar imp, Rexie had swore they would protect Yuriko with their very lives. While Akira felt honor bound to defend Yuriko, Ayami and Rexie did so somewhat begrudgingly. The dying wish of Zack and Mia was that their demonic guardians protect Yuriko. The demons were now bound to the goddaughter of their masters, meaning they now found themselves serving a new master.
Yuriko for her part, treated her compatriots as family. Now a widow, Yuriko had moved to a quiet part of the country, a place that was unfamiliar with magic.
The reason for Yurikos move was simple, protect the Rings of Age and Transformation that had been passed down to her. After the passing of Katie and the others Jack and Kellie, who were now immortal beings and guardians of light and darkness, had taken the rings and given them to Yuriko for safe keeping. The Rings were incredibly powerful and the two thought it best that they should be stored away for safe keeping.
Yuriko was only to happy to comply. While other children of the next generation had produced great and powerful wizards, Yurikos children and grandchildren did not. Over the years Yuriko had seen the rings used both for good and for evil. Far too many used magic for selfish means, meaning that in the wrong hands they could be used for dark purposes.
Now living in a large home in a secluded part of town, Yuriko was only to happy to cultivate the myths and stories of the old witches house. Yuriko would often laugh softly at the children's stories of her haunted house. Stories of demons and shapeshifting cats, about a massive fox with six tails that would take naughty children in the night. These stories of course were exaggerated yet Yuriko did little to reveal the truth. At 80 years of age Yuriko wished to enjoy her remaining time quietly with an occasional visit from her grandchildren.
As the sun now began to rise, the elderly Yuriko stretched and smiled. Today would be another quiet day. Or would it?
