Teri had never seen the anime 'Tsukiko-Chan Don't!?' (and neither have you, since it only exists in Teri's universe). Josh was a huge fan of it, however, and prominently wore a t-shirt with the girl on it. Tsukiko was a an example of the genre known as 'Magical Girlfriend'. Basically, think Bewitched, or better yet, I Dream of Jeannie. Tsukiko was a girl from another world who had accidentally be summoned to Tokyo to grant the wishes of a loner named Kenji.
Tsukiko didn't always have a great handle on her powers, and even though she liked Kenji, she was proud, arrogant, and had a hard time admitting her feelings (which confused, and even frightened her at times), so she generally treated Kenji badly.
Being a nerd into anime, Josh was used to being bullied. And sometimes that extended beyond the school grounds. Like today, when his usual nemesis, Corey Stone had spotted him at the mall. Corey was a bit of throwback- he'd be perfectly at home in some 80's teen movie where he'd be the 'popular bully jock'. Giving a weirdo like Josh just came naturally to him. Today, for example, he'd taken away the shorter boy's new manga, and was playing the old 'keep away' game while glancing at it.
He had to admit, the one he was looking at now was interesting. There was a naked girl in it, and with her large breasts, she looked pretty hot for a cartoon. He might have to keep this one...
One moment, Josh was saying "Come on, Corey, give that back, please?" while desperately reaching for his hentai (technically he wasn't old enough to have bought it, but he had a friend at the comic shop).
The next, there was a flash of light, and a confused looking girl was standing where Corey had been, holding his manga. The girl had green hair, red eyes, and very tanned looking skin. She was dressed like a schoolgirl, and she had a side ponytail held back by red ribbons in her hair. She had a lock of purple hair mixed in with the green. She wore slender bracelets on her wrists that jingled whenever she moved her arms, and he knew that she had very similar anklets. Her skirt was a little short, and she wore thigh-high white stockings and black leather shoes with short heels and large silver buckles.
She was much shorter than Josh, and could pass for a 13 year old easily. He knew her body intimately- he knew she had a heart-shaped birthmark on her right hip, and that she had very small breasts, that she was sensitive about. She was really 26 years old, and though she looked human, she was a creature of magic, and was probably immortal.
the girl said, in Japanese.
Josh was studying Japanese, and he was pretty good at it, though his Japanese-speaking friends often joked that he sounded like a tween girl when he spoke.
She was looking down at herself. She dropped the manga, raising her hands.
Corey!? Corey had been transformed into a pretty girl? 'That's not fair..' was his first thought. He quashed that immediately. He heard shrieks of surprise elsewhere in the shopping center, and he realized something strange was going on.
The girl blinked cutely. > She winked and held two fingers in front of her face, looking through them with one eye. And then...they were standing in a forest. The morning sun shone down on them from between the canopy of majestic trees, and there was a park bench in the center of the clearing.
