Matt had been thinking of what he enjoyed about being a robot and he wanted to feel more like an owned sex object. Some part of him still was embarrassed to admit that he liked it and he was nervous about what his owner would think.
"I would really enjoy having my name replaced, Ryan. To make me really feel like your sexbot."
"Interesting request. I take it you mean more than just having me call you sexbot."
"Yes, I think it would be good to have all memory of having a human name erased from my memory."
"I approve of your request, it shows the right attitude. Go to my office."
Matt walked down the hallway and stood at a parade rest next to the desk awaiting reprograming. After some time his owner walked in and connected a USB cable from the back of his neck to the computer. Ryan did not even talk to him as he worked on the computer while Matt waited. This was being even more naked than was normal with every thought potentially available to his owner. He wondered if Ryan could see the conflict he felt between enjoying this and being embarrassed by it. He was in conscious control mode and could stop this by simply unplugging the cord, but he stood there allowing this to happen.
Files opened and closed, some he could sense and understand and others that were hidden from himself. Sometimes he would say a single word like "service" or "words" before many files opened and closed. Once his owner got frustrated and took a break leaving Matt to stand there waiting like any other computer peripheral.
Ryan returned and got to work again. It was not in any way tiring, but emotionally it seemed to last a long time even though the computer connection informed him of the unchanging tick of time. Finally Ryan spoke to him. "Ah, got it. Fundamentally altering anything about your mind is very easy. The problem is there is so much going on in there and everything is connected to everything else. Now I need your help. I need you to think about your name so I can see all the interconnected subroutines that activate."
Matt thought about being called Matt or Matthew. By teachers, by friends, seeing his name on documents...
Without warning there was a feeling like being in a dream of speeding through a landscape. It was a rush of memories like being reminded of everything at once. From being bored he was now overwhelmed until the sensation stopped and it seemed like there was a jump of time with it being 4 minutes later and Ryan was in another position.
"Okay, what is your name?"
"Sexbot," he responded automatically.
"Do you remember your parents calling you that?"
"I... Yes. I only remember being called Sexbot, Sir." Which felt weird and kind of wonderful.
"Try to remember your name for me. Guess."
Sexbot thought hard trying to recall his human name. He must have had one, because he could remember being human once and logically he knew that as a human he would have had a normal name. Despite this everything he could think of only returned the designation of 'Sexbot'.
"Was I a James?"
"No. Do you remember that you wanted your name errased?"
"Yes Sir. I remember the conversation, but it is like I was asking to confirm that I am meant to be your Sexbot."
