Chris, John and Damon raced out the front door with her stuff.
"Yeah, whatever, good luck with that," Chris said sarcastically as he ran out the door first.
John sang 'Witchy Woman' mockingly as he went out after him.
Damon stuck out his tongue and gave a rude gesture as he went out last.
They all piled themselves and their loot into the back of Chris's getaway car and sped off at hod rod speeds. Damon was clinging to the seat, hoping the rickety old ride wouldn't just fall apart. Chris and John were laughing all the way to the pawn shop.
"Can you believe she didn't even call the cops?" said John.
"She said she's putting a SPELL on us! hehehe," said Chris.
"I knew she was the town nutcase, but I didn't know it was gonna be THIS easy."
The three friends took turns going into the pawn shop and selling some of the more expensive things first. They thought it might be too blatant if all three of them took all stuff in at one time. Sure, the pawn shop owner knew about the questionableness of their sources, and they knew she knew about that, but she was happy to look the other way and not say anything about it since they were all four making money. Still, if the customers caught on, Damon might have to rough them up a bit, and that would increase the likelihood that the cops might get involved. Nobody wanted to have to give up more money to bail the others out of jail, not again after last time, so they all played it cool.
After the initial sales were done, they split up the stolen goods among them, said their goodbyes for the evening, and went home. Little did they know, the old woman really was a witch, and all three of them had been cursed. Starting within a few hours, and finishing within a few days, they would all be animals just like she said, and very possibly not even the same kind.
