Jo wanted to modify her bathroom. As much as she loved her tail, she knew that nature would eventually make its call. Still, the idea of setting her scales on top of a cold, clinical toilet didn't appeal to her at all. She was a mermaid, it was only fair she got a bathroom that matched her mystical body.
Jo closed her eyes and said: "I wish my bathroom was more fit for a mermaid than a human."
Admittedly, her wish was a bit vague but Jo thought it would be more fun to keep the new bathroom a surprise for herself.
Soon, Jo got up from her couch and "walked" towards the bathroom. When she opened the door, the mermaid grinned at what she saw.
Instead of a white room mostly made out of textureless tiles, there was a cozy looking cove. The floor was now a field of grass, rocks, and daisies. In the place of her bathtub and toilet, there was now a spring of glowing water.
"Ah! This place looks much better!" Jo said, pleased with her wish. The bathroom was certainly more mystical than before.
"Even though I already have a pool outside, I'm more than happy to have another one." She said with a chuckle.
So, Jo began to "walk" towards the spring. It was then that she felt the dewy grass-blades tickle her tailfins. The pleasure of the sensation caused Jo to giggle before sighing. She wasn't sure if it was because her tailfins were more sensitive than her human feet or not but the grass felt so good to the touch. It made her eager to try out the pool even more.
Before long, Jo began to dive into the spring and swim around in the small, but comfortable looking space. To her surprise, Jo would find that the spring actually contained saltwater rather than tap water.
Jo was curious how that was even possible when she noticed starfish, coral, plankton, and seaweed surrounding her. After taking a good look, she realized that this wasn't an ordinary pool of water. The spring was actually a portal to lead her to the ocean any time she wanted!
The realization caused Jo to smile and jump out of the water in joy.
"This is amazing. Now I can enter the ocean without needing to take a bus. How cool is that?" Jo gushed to herself.
After her celebration, Jo decided that she would take the time to relax in the spring for a little bit before renovating more of her house. She rose out of the water up to her waist and rested her arms on the edge of the spring.
Jo tilted her head back and closed her eyes.
"This is the life." She sighed.
A minute or so passed by until Jo suddenly began to feel something lightly pulling at the ends of her tailfins. Jo quickly opened her eyes and looked down to see...
