Dustin finally falls asleep. Carefully, Laura climbs out of the crib and down onto the adjacent dresser. A few times, she pauses as she notices Dustin move slightly in his sleep. Thankfully, though, he doesn’t wake up. She sits on the dresser and suckles on her pacifier as she makes her plan. There’s a window that’s within reach of her right now, but her bag with the dice are on the floor by the door. She could climb down to grab the bag, but she doesn’t have much faith in her ability to climb back up.
After debating, she comes to the difficult decision to leave without her bag. Her heart sinking, she toddles over to the window and pushes it open, then crawls out. Promptly, she falls into bushes directly below the window. The shock of the fall causes her to involuntarily wet her diaper.
Once she gets out of the bushes, Laura checks on the status of her diaper. It’s damp, but not wet enough that she needs a change. Sighing in relief, she walks down the street. Before long, she’s left the residential neighborhood and is in an area with multiple stores.
Laura sucks on her pacifier happily. The stores all look like places she can get some new diapers and clothes. After all, Jessica is going to report her missing in the morning, so she should try to be wearing a different outfit. After a moment, she’s made her decision as to where she’s going to “borrow” from.
