As the final bell rang, Jack and Teddy interlocked their fingers and stretched their arms over their heads. "Ugh, finally! Now we can go home." Teddy smiled straightened them in their seat.
"Oh yay..." Jack groaned, and when Teddy gave him a puzzled look he continued, "Did you forget? We need to explain to our parents what happened last night." Teddy sighed as he leaned back in their chair and slouched. Jack didn't seem to mind, or at least didn't care.
They sat for a few minutes as the rest of the students packed up their bags. Christian was in this class, and on his way out we walked by Jack and Teddy, lightly punching them in Teddy's shoulder. "Hey, cheer up you two. Do guys want to hang out tomorrow? I have the house to myself!" Jack and Teddy glanced at each other, and Christian could tell something was up, "Well, just think about it ok?" Christian smiled before departing.
They wearily got to their feet and grabbed their backpack. They headed back to their locker to exchange whatever books they needed for homework that night. Just as they finished closing their locker Carter showed up. He came over to Teddy's side and greeted them. "How was your first day?"
"It was all right, nothing we couldn't really handle."
"Except I have to re-write my math test." Jack's words went unheard as they began to walk to the parking lot.
"That's good." Carter stayed to the pair's right side, keeping next to Teddy. "Any idea how you'll deal with tonight? I've been worried about it all day." He put his hand on Teddy's shoulder and gave it a light squeeze. "I'll try to help you in any way that I can."
"I think we should tell them the truth." Teddy smiled to the dismay of his brother. Jack on the other hand started to laugh, "Yeah, I'm sure that won't be weird at all." Jack briefly cleared his throat, "Yeah so, like... me and Teddy got fused together by this magic suit thing, and got mad about it, so that's why what happened. It's all cool though, we'll be able to split apart by tonight, so don't worry." Teddy gave their body a little shove and chuckled, "God... They'd look at us like we were crazy."
Carter didn't find any of this amusing, "I'm being serious Teddy! What are you going to do?" Jack was starting to get a hint that Carter didn't want anything to do with him right now, so he just allowed Teddy to do the walking and payed no attention. "Like I said, I could help you if you..."
"It'll be fine Carter, calm down." Teddy spoke in a even tone, "We'll just tell them what we told everyone at lunch. We just got a little angry, and it escalated. It'll be fine." Teddy had always been the more level headed of the twins, and knew how to defuse Carter's anger almost all of the time. Carter nodded in acceptance at let the subject drop.
Corey had been waiting at the truck, and waved at his brother's as they approached. On the way back home, Carter would look over as if to say something to Teddy, but would stop once he saw Jack, who's head was currently blocking his view. It was impossible for Jack not to have noticed, and he was beginning to get annoyed. Teddy however was unaware of the situation going on between Carter and his conjoined friend.
