"Jen? You in there?" He heard Lynda call out from the other side of the door.
Tim's mind was racing with different possibilities, but ultimately decided his best chance would be to try and become himself again. This was just too weird, not to mention his important meeting he needed to attend! If he recalled right, all he had to do was think about who to swap and press the button on the watches side.
"One second Lynduu-uhhhh!" He began to call out before the door suddenly swung into him.
Just as soon as the door hit him, and his balance was thrown off, his finger hit the sensitive button, causing the world to shift again.
In an instant, Tim found himself shifted in location yet again. This time, however, it wasn't nearly as confusing, as he found himself still in the bathroom, just standing in a slightly different spot. He also found himself no longer falling. At first, he believed the watch to had failed, but his train of thought was soon thrown off once he saw Lynda lying on her side on the floor.
"Shit, I'm sorry are you ok?" Tim asked, lending out his arm to Lynda.
"Ugh, yeah I'm fine." Lynda scoffed, taking Tim's arm and hopping off the floor. "Geez Lyn, you're always such a klutz!" She laughed, brushing at her shoulder.
"Wait, Lyn? That's..." He began to protest until he took a closer look at Lynda's clothing. She was still wearing yoga pants, but was now wearing the gray tank top that he, or technically Jennifer, was wearing before. Along with that, her hair was still dark black, but instead of being straightened and tightly kept, it was like Jennifer's curly texture and messy in its bun.
Tim looked at the mirror quickly, and noted he now wore Lynda's purple tank top and had his brown hair far more well kept and less curly. He sighed, realizing that his train of thought being thrown off had caused him and Lynda to swap lives rather than he and Jennifer.
"... Yeah, that's me. Clumsy Lynda." He sighed, deciding to play along to avoid more confusion.
"Hey girl, don't feel bad I was just teasing." Lynda chuckled. "Lyn, you're great! You're a great friend who's been helping me work off this baby fat." She gestured to her arms, which was then when Tim noticed how her arms WERE slightly flabbier than before! Does weight also swap with lives? Was his before and he didn't notice?
"Plus, Tim really appreciates it." Lynda winked at him, giving Tim some very conflicted emotions. "Now let's go. I'm feeling better now and I want to finish up before my errands later." She replied before strutting out of the bathroom.
"Huh, I guess my excuse carried on to Lynda in Jennifer's life?" He speculated in his mind while he followed Lynda. He looked down at his wrist, wondering just how powerful this watch was. "Now what do I do? I think I've just confirmed that it works by thinking about who you want to swap, but it seems pretty damn finicky." He pondered.
As Lynda in Jennifer's life approached the machines, he also wondered about how many swaps were possible. Were switching other people without swapping himself possible? Should he experiment or just try to turn back again? Jennifer in his life would be in the meeting right now, so would it be too risky to change back right now?
Eventually, just as Lynda was sitting down, Tim decided what to do.
