First things first. She wouldn’t be back to normal for a while, which meant that she couldn’t go to work for a while. Laura climbed onto her desk chair and used her computer to email her boss. After a moment’s debate, she said that she wouldn’t be back for a week. Satisfied, Laura got down from her chair and went to the kitchen to have some breakfast.
After breakfast, Laura grabbed the supplies from where they were by the front door. Now that she’d discovered she enjoyed wearing just a diaper, the clothes weren’t as urgently needed, but there were other things in it. Namely, toys, changing supplies, food, and, most importantly, diapers. Before she could begin to look through it, she heard her laptop chime. Her boss had responded.
Laura left the box of supplies and went back to her laptop, grabbing her pacifier on the way. She suckled on it as she read her boss’s response. Her jaw dropped, her pacifier tumbling to her lap. Apparently, she wasn’t being allowed to take vacation for the next week.
Quickly, Laura fired back another email. She put her pacifier back in while she waited for the response. After a few back and forths, Laura’s boss sent an ultimatum, outlining three options.
Laura could use her vacation time, but she only had three days’ worth. Laura could come to work. Or Laura could quit.
