The Magic Shop

A lot less respect for Shea

"What's wrong babe? Did you not want me to touch this camera?"

Before Shea could answer Oliver accidentally took a picture.

FLASH

Shea braced herself, expecting some awful transformation, but suddenly felt relief as she realized that Oliver must have missed. She felt completely normal after all! Shea glanced down, saw she was still wearing her Moana t-shirt and her favorite tutu she liked to dance around the house in. She felt her head, and still felt everything there from her curly pigtails to her glittery hair ties. Even her ballet shoes were identical.

"Ollie!" Shea whined. "Be carful with that thingie it's..." She started before she stopped herself. Her Mommy would get mad at her if she told her babysitter. But Ollie had been babysitting her all 6 years of her life, didn't he deserve to know? Shea rubbed her foot on the floor, held her hands behind her back, and tried to avoid eye contact with Ollie.

"Shea? Do you have something to tell me?" He asked softly, leaning down to listen to Shea.

"No." Shea mumbled before running off.

"Huh, what's gotten into her?" Oliver wondered before glancing back at the camera he had found.

Downstairs, Rebecca was walking inside. She felt bad about keeping Oliver over longer so she could swim, but then again the boy lived next-door so it was probably no big deal. She finished wrapping the towel around her waist while she quickly fixed her swim suit as to not accidentally flash anyone. Rebecca often wondered if she needed to wear a sports bra more often.
"No, poor Paul would be so upset if he couldn't play with the "girls" whenever he wanted." Rebecca chuckled quietly to herself, daydreaming about what her and her husband would do later.

Rebecca's train of thought was interrupted as the pitter-patter of feet came from upstairs. Shea ran towards her mother as fast as her little legs could carry her.
"Young lady, no running in the house!" Rebecca scolded her.

"Sorry mommy, but we have problem!" She panted.

"It's "we have A problem" Shea, and what do you mean?" She asked.

"Ollie has the camera!" She loudly whispered.

"What?!" Rebecca gasped. "How'd he find it?"

"Idunno." She mumbled.

"Does he know what it does? Has he taken a picture?" Rebecca asked, quickly going through her memories, trying to figure out if anything felt off to her.

"Idunno if he know but some thingies were on the ground around him." She recalled as she had seen a photo or two near him.

"Oh dear.... oh dear this is bad." Rebecca sighed. She then heard Oliver begin to come down the stairs. Rebecca quickly crouched and whispered to her young daughter. "Shea honey, Mommy needs you to run upstairs and see what pictures were taken. I'll stay here and carefully try to get the camera back. Be quick darling." She told Shea before patting her butt to send her off.

Oliver wondered why Shea was running past him but was suddenly interrupted by Shea's Mother and his neighbor Rebecca.
"Oliver! SO good to see you!" Rebecca greeted.

"Uh, hi Mrs. Smith... but you already said hi to me before." He laughed as he took the camera out from under his arm.

Rebecca tried not to tense up and continued to smile.
"Did I? Oh, silly me." She chuckled nervously.

Meanwhile, upstairs, Shea had run back into where she had found Oliver before. She looked around before her eyes lit up upon seeing to photos face down. Shea almost picked them up to look, but then became scared as she hovered over them. What if she changed? Did she want to know?

"I-I'll let Mommy look." Shea muttered as she scooped them up without looking and ran off.

Downstairs, Oliver was becoming confused. Why did Mrs. Smith seem so freaked out? Had he done something wrong? That's when he remembered the camera he was holding and how Shea had reacted before. "Shit, is this important to her? Better just run it back up to be safe." He thought.

Suddenly, to Rebecca's surprise, Oliver hopped up from his seat.
"Well I almost forgot! I gotta run this back upstairs." He said.

"W-wait, be carful Shea's ri-" Rebecca tried to warn them but it was too late.

Shea had run down, but wasn't looking where she was running before bumping into Oliver's leg. Because of this, Oliver released his grip on the camera and could only watch as it fell towards the ground. All three raced forward, trying to catch it before it landed face up.

Who changed and how? If a crazy change, then where's the camera?
