There was one uncomfortable moment, during the art exhibition, when one of the male patrons got a bit too lecherous. Trying to feel her through the carbon fiber body suit.. but it was solid as rock, and try as he might, he couldn't get a feel. When he was going for a kiss, Benjamin shooed him away, and gave her a knowing wink.
He whispered in her ear. "This could go on for a while. Why don't we have some time alone.. in private. Tell everyone that we're leaving, but we're going to see them at the race tomorrow, then give me your arm and follow me. Understand?" She gave a nod, against her will. "Good. Execute."
Brianna found her body again out of control, waving goodbye, then letting Benjamin lead her back to her room.
"Lie down," he commanded. She got on the bed. Someone knocked at the door, he went and took a tray, on it were two bowls of strawberry-pink cream and a silk package. He put it on a side table, then pulled over a chair and sit down.
"There.. good. Yes... alright. Unlock head. Immediate Mode. Execute."
"YOU BASS..." Brianna started screaming.
"Set Volume: 10%" Benjamin commanded
"sstard.." Brianna found herself talking quietly. "You killed her."
"I didn't kill her," he corrected her, "She's still alive."
"Then she's alive, and screaming" Brianna stated confidently. "I can't believe you'd do this to her."
"Well, alive. Conscious, not so much. She's kinda just floating in a blissful euophia right now."
"That's.. still... how much of her is left?"
"The vast majority, I assure you. I'm going to have her put in the freezer. Not for her concern of course. Even if she melted, with the chronivac, I can restore her fully."
"I can't believe it. Why would you do it, you pervert!"
"Well, yes. But also because as long as she was human, I couldn't do this." He pressed a button on the chronivac. Holding it up so she could see what he was doing, he changed the Owner setting on the chronivac to himself. Then removed the settings Jeff had entered protecting his mind from irreversible changes.
"What..."
"So long as Freya was a human being, anything I ever did would be temporary. Now I can fix this so that I'm the only one who can use the chronivac..." he made a change.. "And then make that permanent." Freya's phone turned from bright pink to a cool, reflective silver.
"No..."
"But I'm willing to share, Brianna. Now I can bring her back.. however I want. I can make her love me. I can make her forget ever having been Jeff. Or.. I can leave her as a puddle of ice cream. It's all up to you."
"I..."
"Unfortunately I can't do the same to you. Not as long as you're still human. See, the chronivac defines human pretty narrowly. As long as you're flesh and blood, I can't change your mind, fundamentally, without your permission. But it doesn't really care if I turn you into a machine."
"You're crazy."
"Maybe... but what do you say? Will you join me?"
