The December Edition of Animalia Magazine was called the Merry Mysteries edition not because of anything mysterious that happened recently, but because of some of the holiday traditions, not just Christmas, were a little confusing, not just to Animalians. Because of that there was a special article that talked about some of those traditions, such as "gingerbread houses", "mistletoe", etc., and while some of them were easy to understand how they became associated with Christmas, others were a little confusing.

It wasn't just Christmas that was being celebrated, Maelewano was hosting a Kwanza celebration which was different for visitors, but was something familiar for the various African tribes who were participating. The article that covered it helped explain the many different aspects of it, especially for those who never heard about it/didn't know about it. While there were those who inevitably did rude comments on the article on the digital edition of the website, there were those who did clever comebacks to those comments that made the rude commenters look like idiots.
---
There was also an article that talked about Hanukah and its traditions, but that was done more like an interview, since Gazette Oryx was Jewish, much to everyone's surprise. This did set her up as a target for other rude comments on the website, but she managed to turn the intents back on them when she revealed that she was a "survivor" of WWII-era Germany. This caused many Jewish groups to come out to support her, much to her surprise.

There were other holidays that took place during winter, but these were comparatively minor and didn't really warrant a full article. There were also Christmas recipes that were really easy for anyone to follow. While there were those who tried to use said recipes for "internet influence", there were others who made it clear that you wouldn't become an internet celebrity and get free stuff to promote because of that. That didn't stop some people from trying, often with hilariously mixed results.

With Christmas just around the corner, everyone was getting into the "hurry up" part to get ready. While the December/Christmas issue only helped a little bit, it really helped to raise intelligence about Christmas, if only slightly.
