“No I refuse.” you said.
“I insist.” she answered.
You frowned, surely a cute frown, and she said hastily, “Mistress, if I go back to the village, they would kick me right out.”
“Why, last time I checked, mortals don’t do such pointlessly cruel acts.” you said, needing to keep the ageless vampire reputation.
“I’m left-handed, the sign of a witch.” she whispered.

“WHAT!?” you yelled furrowing my eyebrows, just barely keeping yourself from hitting something, “they send you to die on such a flimsy pretense?”
Ruby was shaking with closed eyes and repeating “Please don’t kill me. Please don’t kill me.”, while crying, which shook you out of it.
“Ruby.” you said softly, and she looked you in the eyes. Hers were red from crying and it hurt your heart seeing her face like this.
“I’m sorry for losing my temper.”, you hoped that this will calm her down for a bit.
“Huh?” she said in a tone expecting punishment “you will not kill me?”.
“No, enough injustice was done to you, today.” you said, still angry at her village, “Do you have still somewhere to run to? Family outside your village?”
“My living aunt voted to send me here, too. They say that bad luck will overcome the village, if I stayed. Only my late father would have kept them from sending me away.”
Those superstitious bunch of assholes!
“Ok, Ruby, you are welcome to spend your youth here. I realize that it chains you to me, but that’s the best I can do, for now.”
She looked at you with big eyes and an open mouth and you booped her nose with your pinky. “Hello is there a Ruby there?”
“Sorry mistress, but I expected to be bound to your service my whole life”
You giggled like the child you are, “No, I’m sorry, but you just looked funny like that.” the effect was diminished by the evidence of her earlier crying, but you wanted to make yourself less threatening to her. After you said that she frowned at you, but then it broke to a smile, go you!
“Where did you get such delightful clothes anyway?” you asked, curios.
“Your maid gave it to me, before sending me in. She said it suited your taste.” whatever you paid her, she needed a raise.
Then you felt hungry and said to Ruby “But still, I need to sate my hunger.”
And she began to bare her neck “Mistress.” she said without hesitation, as if anticipating it.
“I could use another human, you know. Maybe some of those bastards in your village. And why to you keep calling me mistress?” you responded.
“No, use my neck, mistress.” she said, her voice full of determination, “you give me an abode and a second chance at life, I need to pay it back how I can. And ‘Mistress’ fits you.” she smiled.
“Right then, with your permission.” you stepped to her side slowly, trailed your pointing finger on her neck, then bit her.
At first, she tensed up a bit, but then she relaxed.
Her blood tastes amazingly sweet, like liquid candy, but you knew that you cannot take too much of it and soon stopped.
“Not too painful, I hope?” you asked after stepping back.
She breathed evenly, like after an exercise, and said “it stings, but I thought it’s gonna be worse.”, then she looked at you “How did it taste?”
“Sweeter than any candy you can think of. It suits you.” and she blushed again. I would never tire of this!
Then she almost fell to the ground and you caught her, feeling the smooth silk of her dress on your bare skin.
“Everything's okay, mistress, I just went a little woozy there” she said. Must come from losing blood, you imagine.
“Do you wanna sit over there?” you asked and pointed to an expensive looking seat.
“If I have your permission” and so you brought her there.
“What now?” you asked myself.
