Amy ponders for a moment and plays it safe - relatively anyway.
'Lets stick to something at least within the realm of human science' she said.
The taller of the two men chuckled at this. 'Well, if it was entirely understood, it wouldn't be here. But I have something that might be right up your alley - the Essence Extractor.'
The shorter man opened a locked cabinet and withdraw a bizarre handheld device. It was vaguely pistol shaped, the upper part was a mess of copper tubing. Emerging from the tip was a silver dish about an inch across, giving it a retro sci-fi vibe. On the side were dozens of tiny buttons. A wood paneled pistol grip extended from the bottom, pared with a metal trigger. These last parts were clearly repurposed from an actual gun.
Accompanying it was a printed sheet detailing the buttons on the side, with about half of them labelled.
The shorter man began to explain. 'This was created by a mad scientist, we came into possession of it when one of his other devices turned him, and everyone within a hundred yards, into dolphins. We had a bunch of close calls getting them all to the ocean.'
The taller man continued. 'we're figuring out what all it can do by trial and error. So far we've identified that it can drain someone of both personality attributes and physical characteristics. It can also remove age; though it can't seem to reverse puberty, so late teens is about as early as it can go. Unfortunately this also causes massive permanent memory loss, so we aren't experimenting that one any further.'
The shorter man walked over to her with the Extractor. 'The deal is you can choose one or two attributes we know, but we get to try an unknown button too.'
'So, what would you like to lose?'
