Jennifer looked out her window and saw that her neighbor Will had pulled his car into her driveway, he was wearing a red t-shirt and a pair of blue jean shorts. Will usually picked her up to take her to school. He was a tall gangly kid with sandy brown hair. Will and Jennifer had grown up together, when they were little they used to go to each other's houses often. They even had slumber parties together. In elementary school he was picked on a lot because he was the shortest and most emotional kid in the class. Jennifer and her friends usually stepped in and helped protect him, which he gratefully accepted. Though they were both seniors at East Hampton, they were still good friends. They had even shared some of their biggest secrets with each other, ones that they would never dare write in a journal or a diary. Will often covered for her when she was in trouble, which was no small favor since he despised lying. She watched as he got out of his car, went to the front door, and rang the doorbell. Jennifer opened her window.
"Will, could you come in? I am having some problems this morning, I think I need your help," Jennifer shouted down to him. Will let himself in and jogged up the stairs to her room. As he turned around the corner to her room he was shocked.
"Oh, my goodness!" he exclaimed and turned around real fast to face the hallway. Jennifer was standing in her room wearing nothing but a sock and her pink bra and he could see everything. What shocked him the most was that she had a cow's tail dangling over her rear end. "Is that a…?" he asked, not turning around.
"Yes, it is." She replied.
Will couldn't think of anything to say except, "How?".
"Do you know Kyle Perkins?" she asked.
"Unfortunately, yes." He replied. "He is one of the most evil spirited guys I know, and he is only a freshman! I am glad I will be gone when he is a senior. He seems to take everything the wrong way and he picks on everybody. Didn't you and your friends depants him last week?" Jennifer admitted that they did. "You know I don't encourage that sort of thing, but I gave a silent cheer." Said Will.
"Well, he put the town curse on me because of it and every time I say something mean I turn more into a cow." Jennifer said with hopeless sound to her voice. She quickly told him about her phone call from Sylvia that led to her tail. "I was just having a bad morning and Sylvia called at the wrong time, you know I can't stand her." Explained Jennifer.
"Is there anything I can do? I don't want you stuck like that." Said Will.
"If the legend is true, then I can use it next. If I gave it to you would you turn me back?" Jennifer asked.
"Sure," said Will, "just go easy on it okay? We still have to go to school and we don't need anymore problems."
"You should take the dare then, that will probably cause the least amount of problems." She said. Then she said the fated words, "Transform or Dare." Will said Dare and awaited his fate. "Will," said Jennifer, "I dare you to skip school today and to loosen up."
"Skip school? You know I have to be extremely ill, before I miss school. I hate having to do all that make up work." He said with a scowl. With that he stood there and thought a minute. All of a sudden an idea struck him. "Why not?" said Will, "I don't think there is a whole lot going on today, anyhow. It isn't like I am going to make a habit of it, and a day off would help loosen me up." Will was all smiles now. Then another thought occurred to him. "Jennifer, why do you want me to skip school?"
"Since we have the curse we better make the best of it and have a little fun. We could transform ourselves all day and then turn ourselves back to normal, before we pass it on," said Jennifer.
"Sounds fine to me. This could be fun," said Will. "Do you want me to turn you back to normal now? That way we can start with a clean slate. Or would you rather just turn into something else?"
