Leah slowly wakes up. She sits up and looks around curiously. Then, everything that happened before she fell asleep comes crashing back to her. Before she can ask Tina to raise the hood of the stroller, her stepmom does just that. Leah blinks in the sunlight.
“Hello, sleeping beauty,” Tina teases. Leah stretches. “You slept for a very long time!”
“Yeah, I-” Leah starts. She suddenly looks down at herself. When she’d fallen asleep, she had been wearing her shirt and jeans. Now, she was in a soft, pink, footed onesie. “Why am I in baby clothes again?”
“I found some clothes in the clearance aisle while you were sleeping, so I put you in them to check the fit. The last one, the onesie, seemed more comfortable for you to sleep in, so I left it on.”
“Can I have my old clothes back now?”
“No, sorry, I already dropped them off at home. When we get back, you can change, but you’ll have to wait a bit.”
“Why? Where are we?” Leah asks.
“We haven’t arrived at our destination just yet,” Tina says. “But we’re heading there right now.”
“Where?” Leah repeats.
