Leah is startled awake when Tina slams on the brakes.
“What’s happening?” she slurs sleepily.
“Oh, sorry, did that wake you, sweetie?” Tina asks. Leah nods. “There are such terrible drivers on the road today.” A car pulls out in front of them unexpectedly. Tina slams on the brakes again. “Geez! I just barely avoided an accident!” Leah suddenly notices that her diaper is slightly damp. Apparently, Tina might have avoided an accident, but Leah didn’t. The second sudden stop startled her into peeing.
“Um, Tina…” Leah says, “why am I in a car seat?”
“Just in case we got pulled over. I didn’t want a police officer to notice your diaper and think I didn’t have a baby properly secured. Technically, given your size, you should probably be in one anyways.”
“Does that mean you want me to sit in a car seat from now on?”
“Only when you’re wearing a diaper,” Tina teases. Leah chuckles. Then, abruptly, the car spins out of control as someone hits them. Leah screams. The car crashes against a road sign. “Leah! Are you all right?”
“Y-yeah,” Leah stammers. She was terrified by the accident, however, and has now thoroughly soaked her diaper. “But I think I’ll need a diaper change.”
“Oh, don’t get embarrassed. Honestly, it’s a miracle I don’t need one,” Tina says. Sirens sound. A police car pulls up alongside them and a police officer gets out. He walks up to Tina and begins to talk with her. Leah feels panic building in her chest. Someone’s going to see her in a car seat, wearing a wet diaper.
Another police officer, this one a woman, gets out of the car and approaches. She looks inside Tina’s car. Her eyes land on Leah. She smiles.
Overcome by humiliation and terror, Leah loses control and…
