Mia sighed heavily as she now sat down with a few of her friends. School so far had been pleasant enough but everytime she tried to talk with Zack she found herself interrupted.
"What bugging you Mia," Fae asked.
Mia glanced over at the fairy, watching as she flitted between the various drinks scattered across the lunch table. "Do you really need to do that," Mia groaned. "Cant you sit down for a sec? Your wearing me out."
"Sorry," Fae blushed. Mia now wat he'd as the fairy began to grow in size, her skin taking on a flesh tone as her wings shrank back into her back. In moments a petite teenage girl with sparkly purple hair sat next to them.
"No I'm sorry Fae," Mia sighed. "Guess I'm having a rough day." Mia now smiled as she gazed at the petite girl. "Like the outfit Fae. You look freaking adorable."
Fae smiled scanning the colorful sundress and sneakers she was wearing. "Thanks," she chirped. "Terumi actually got this for me on my birthday."
"Surprised it's jinxed or something knowing your sister," Jackie stated.
"Yeah I was too Fae grinned. "That is until my parents had it checked. Needless to say they told Terumi if she played a prank on me at school they'd ground her for a month."
Mia and her friends giggled as they began to chat happily, unaware of the tanuki and nekomata slowly approaching.
"What do you think your doing!"
Mia and her friends jumped, turning quickly to see Fae's sister and her nekomata friend Rini.
"What the hell Terumi," Fae exclaimed. "You heard mom and dad, no pranks at school!"
"I was just saying hello dust butt," Terumi snickered. "Just checking on my little sis and her little friends."
"Well were fine," Fae grumbled. "What's with Rini?"
"What I didnt do anything," Rini exclaimed, a smile like a Cheshire cat spreading across her face.
Mia narrowed her eyes as she critically studied the nekomata. Rini was in human form, like most students at the school. Still the young witch could see her feline features on her human features. Wide blue cat eyes, long multicolored hair, and teeth that were just a bit sharper than the average human. Rini, like her best friend Terumi, were notorious pranksters. "Just remember what mom said," Fae warned. "Stay out of trouble this year."
"Stay out of trouble this year," Rini teased in a sing song voice. "Cmon Terumi, let's leave the geeks to there lunch."
"We're not geeks," Mia bellowed as the two sophomores walked away.
"Well that could have gone better," Ann grumbled as Mia began to sulk. As the quartet began to pick at their lunch they were pleasantly surprised to see a small black tabby jump onto their table. "Rexie?!"
Rexie now narrowed her eyes as she gazed at her master and her friends. "Dont tell me your going to let her get away with that?"
"No Rexie," Mia said quickly, her face going pale, she knew her familiars penchant for pranks.
"Aw cmon Mia," Rexie groaned. "What's the point of being a witch if you cant hex someone from time to time."
"Really dont need my folks getting on my ass for getting in trouble," Ann stated.
"Plus we would end up in Akiras office," Mia added. "Do you really want Ayami yelling at you for getting us in trouble?"
"I'm an imp kids in case you didn't notice," the familiar exclaimed. "Its in my nature to cause problems. Look just think of it as a lesson."
"Pass," Mia said waving her familiar off.
Rexie pouted, grabbing one of Jackie's chicken nuggets of her plate. "Your no fun," she grumbled.
Mia and her friends giggled, watching the imp now snack on their lunches. While causing a little bit of chaos did sound like fun, she needed a better target. The only question was who.
