There love was forbidden, they where both daughters of powerful men and their futures had been planned out. They where to be educated of course because having an educated wife was helpful in making political and business connections but as for whom they where to marry that was never their choice. Not even when they would be married, those dates where already selected before they even reached their 12th birthday. None in any of their families knew their secret, that the two best friends where secretly lover. In their home nation, their love was forbidden both by law and by faith.
“We need to get out of here.” Said Asha as she stood in the bedroom of her best friend, Jael. Jael’s wedding dress was hanging in the closet. Jael hung her head in defeat as she looked at Asha with dark eyes, her long hair in braid.
“Where we will go?” inquired Jael defeat in her voice. “Our fathers are among the richest men in the world and our “husbands” fathers are even more powerful than they are. Face it Asha, there is no where we can go.”
“Well if we head to Europe then…we can come out and no one will touch us.” stated Asha as tears began to flow down Jael’s eyes.
“And then instead of being just hunted down we will be hunted down and honored killed.” Stated Jael as Asha looked down in semi-defeat. So their only choice seamed to marry two men that they hated, never be who they really are and spend their lives in bondage. Asha looked out over the ocean side estate and out toward the darkened sea, if only they could disappear into the sea, multiple private yachts sat at dock waiting to be used.
“What…what if we didn’t just disappear…what if we disappeared and died.” Offered Asha as Jael looked at her best friend/secret lover confused.
“We take one of your families boats out to sea and sink it.” Explained Asha “We leave a suicide note saying we didn’t want to marry those jerks. To avoid the shame our family would say we died in a sailing accident and will not try to find us.”
“That is your plan?” inquired Jael “What we do after that? Where would we go, it isn’t like we could use our credit cards and bank accounts.”
“We would have each other and that is all that matters in the end.” Countered Asha as she hoped Jael would rather be a poor illegal immigrant in a foreign nation with her then be a rich unfree housewife and breeder with a jerk husband.
“Let’s do it.” Said Jael as she walked over and put on a few pieces of jewelry. “We can sell these and I wear these all the time so it will not be odd that it will be missing.”
Getting down to the docks was easy enough and after leaving a suicide note saying neither of them wanted to be married off to men they didn’t love. So they had both decided to end their lives.
The yacht was easier to drive then a car, not that either of them had been allowed to get a driver license, but Jael had watched her father sail multiple times and she could repeat the process and get them out to sea.
“So we sink the ship and get on the life boat and head back to shore.” Said Asha as she prepared the little zodiac boat, they where still close enough to shore to see the lights so even in the dark it should be easy enough to get back shore.
“Alright…lets get.” started Jael as suddenly a cloud bank washed over the yacht which was speeding out to sea. Seconds later both young women where tossed around as the yacht ran aground on an island which hadn’t been there before. Both women where knocked out as the island disappeared again taking them with them, leaving nothing back a strange fog out at sea in the middle of the night which quickly dissipated.
