Luckily for Dawn, few people were at the school since cheerleading practice wasn't scheduled during normal learning hours. Unluckily for her though, the shrinking continued as she raced through the school to the nearest restroom. She had dwindled another two inches during the dash, and had to both stand on her tiptoes and use all of her strength to turn the doorknob and open the door. Once inside, she entered the closest stall and sat down on a toilet seat that seemed impossibly large. Even so, it apparently got larger over the next few seconds as she took care of business... except, of course, in reality her diminishing body was slowly sliding across the porcelain.
When she had finished, Dawn glanced worriedly at the toilet, which had gained another inch or two on Dawn in the short time she spent on the think tank. The relief of making it to the restroom quickly gave way to panic over the realization that she had not stopped shrinking. 'How did this even happen?' she thought. 'This can't be real. It's just a dream - a nightmare, right? Right?!' Dawn had already considered this before, of course, but she adamantly refused to accept her current state as her reality. She pinched her arm in denial, hoping to wake up, forgetting that she had bumped her head on her car's steering wheel earlier and that episode would have certainly woken her up. Indeed, all the pinch did was send a shockwave of pain to her mind. 'Oh my God. This is real. I am actually tiny and I'm getting smaller.' A wave of absolute terror and helplessness washed over her as she finally acknowledged and came to terms with the situation.
'Who do I even talk to about this?' Then it clicked. "Jennifer!" Dawn said aloud, covering her mouth at how high pitched her voice now sounded. After all, Jennifer was shorter than her when she picked up Jennifer for practice, and she knew two things: both of them were 5'4" and she didn't grow any. Thus, Jennifer had to have shrunk first, and Dawn hoped she had some clue of what was happening to herself. "I have to find Jennifer," she said before pausing and gulping, "before I shrink to nothing." At just 2'3" - 27 inches - she was running out of time and size.
Dawn knew she was smaller now than when she entered the restroom, and she could barely open the door before! Grabbing a spare roll of toilet paper from one of the stalls, she rushed to the door and used the roll as a stepping stool. It gave her just enough lift to reach and turn the knob to leave, nearly falling backward in the process. Even though she was still deathly terrified of being seen at her diminutive size, Dawn dashed out the door and headed straight for the locker room. All she could do was hope to avoid anyone else, find her friend and discover some way to keep from shrinking out of existence.
