Ollie lifted his talons to start to put on the shoes, but just as he did he felt another strange tingle go through his avian body. It began with his head, and he felt the world swim around him as he went through another shrinking spurt. His fingers, what was left of them, tingled very strongly. Ollie felt his bird heart drumming fast as he watched the feathers swarm over his fusing fingers. The ring, still clinging to it suddenly glowed and for a moment, Ollie was afraid it would vanish, but instead, it reappeared ... on his foot. It had shrunken dramatically just like he had, but now rested on the third talon of his right foot.
He squawked, his voice now gone, and desperately tried to flutter his way into the sneakers, only to see them growing away from his talons as he tried to get in them. He tugged and clawed at the laces, but the shoes were already loose, and growing looser, until they were just about the size of him. Soon, he saw nestled between them, staring up at the world as a blue jay.
~No!~ He mentally cried. He'd been too late. His talons wouldnt fit in the human things. Wait...human things? He shook his head. Something else was off. He had known what these things were before....he was sure of it, but looking at them now, they just looked like white worms tied around red structures. Desperately, Ollie fluttered back. He had to figure this out quick! He was going bird brained!
