Darren grit his teeth, what was he some sniveling child? He didnt need Hannah protecting him, he didnt need Steph protecting him either. He was his own man. "I'm fixing this once and for all," he thought as he texted Hannah and Steph a simple message. Meet me after school.
Darren now stood brooding in a set of woods, far removed from everyone. The woods he had chosen were practically untouched near an abandoned set of railroad tracks. No one came around here meaning he would have plenty if privacy. Hearing the crunching of leaves he now turned to flower at both Steph and Hannah.
"We're here Darren," Steph said quietly. "What did you want to talk about?"
"Do you have any idea how angry I was when dad told me you had to stay," he hissed. "All I wanted was for you to stay away but no! Cant have poor Steph out the house. No you, you just couldn't get out if my life."
"Darren I..."
"Shut up," Darren bellowed, the maid droid going quiet as he now turned to Hannah. "And you," he growled. "Little Miss I didnt try to spite your gift I just hate some woman I just met."
"I do," Hannah replied. "But you have to understand..."
"I dont have to understand anything," Darren yelled. "All I see are two people who supposedly care trying to manipulate me. It doesn't matter what I say ir what I do. You two think you know better and it is so damn annoying!"
Darren now turned his back on the two droids, the silence deafening. He didnt want to hear what either one of them had to say. In fact, as he thought about it, he didnt want them around at all.
Darren turned back to face the two droids, a sinister smirk on his face. "I think I have an idea," he said maliciously. "Say nothing, do nothing, I want to try something out." Both Steph and Hannah nodded as they anxiously watched Darren.
"No more Steph!"
Steph shuddered, a sound like static escaping her mouth as the droids movements seemed to spasm. Darren now watched as her body began corroded, rust slowly overtaking the droids body. Steph now tried to speak finding it impossible as the bottom half of her face fell away. As the droid tried to reach for Darren her arms seemed to disintegrate, crumbling to dust. Finally the droids eyes went dark, life leaving them as it collapsed into a heap of rusted and forgotten metal.
Hannah gasped, too frightened for words as Darren now glared at her. "No talking," he hissed. "Its your turn now."
Hannah tried to reach for her friend, trying to convince him to stop. As she reached out her hand she was shocked by what she saw. Hannah's hand began to close, compacting upon itself as if in a compactor. Once the hand was reduced to garbage she watched it vanish, before the process began moving up her arm.
Hannah was out if her mind with fear, Darren was destroying her. Trying to run proved to be a fruitless effort, her legs were now undergoing the same process as her arms. The droids feet crumpling as if stuck in a gravity well before being compacted into nothingness. Once her feet were gone the process moved up her legs. Soon only Hannah's head and torso remained, stuck floating in the air.
"Darren," she pleaded.
"Save it," he spat. "I'm just ending a friendship."
Hannah now let out a cry like static. The droids body compacting on itself, Hannah's face and torso crumpling under the extreme gravity Darren was creating. The sounds of glass breaking and metal tearing echoed through the woods. As Darren now stared at the twisted hunks of metal that was all thatvremoaned of Hannah he grinned, closing his fist as the metal ball became smaller and smaller before vanishing from existence.
"I make the choices from now on," he whispered. "I'm tired of my so called friends deciding what I should do."
