Miss Fabina was grateful for the new expansions to the Meat Market, particularly the new 'recording studio' in the back. Before that, premium videos had to be done ad hoc in other people's houses. Now they could have more extensive background scenery. Fabina had been wanting to do more with these videos. But while the city of Lyre had been very tolerant with all the sexual escapades of Animalians, they probably would have drawn the line at having a porn studio in the city. But this was the next best thing.
But right now, she wasn't at her recording studio. She was PR-MD's recording studio doing an interview. It was with one of the more major news stations, so Fabina was dressed in a nice suit for this occasion. Ok, so she could resist showing a bit of her cleavage, but that was it. She wasn't doing this interview to flaunt, she did have a message to send.
"So, Miss Fabina, you're in charge of Animalia's adult entertainment?" asked the man who was doing the interview.
"I don't micromanage everything," said Miss Fabina, "I supervise and manage, but I allow those who want to work in this business to do their own things most of the time. But I do see to it that proper care is given."
"For the upkeep of your establishments?" asked the interviewer.
"Well, yes, but I'm also concerned for the physical and mental well-being of my employees," said Fabina.
"Most...purveyors of adult entertainment don't care so much about their employees' health," said the interviewer tactfully.
"Unfortunately, yes," said Fabina, "It's not just morally wrong for them to do, but stupid from a business point of view. Their employees need healthy bodies to their work and they can't work well if they're suffering from emotional issues of various kinds. Treating the employees well improves performance and productivity. That's true in any business."
"No argument there," said the interviewer, "But I would assume not everyone in your line of work treats their workers with a soft hand like you do."
"Yes, one example of that was the former employer of three women who have moved here about a month ago," said Fabina, "For starters, this ex-employer saw fit to heavily modify their bodies with plastic surgery. They were put through...rather extreme alterations."
"Too extreme to show on TV?" asked the interviewer.
"Not quite so, but I can't really show more than this," said Fabina before pulling out some photos. There were three women featured, an African-American, a Caucasian brunette, and a Latina. It was pretty clear what kind of modifications had been done to them, considering how big and fake their breasts and asses looked. Not to mention their lips were much larger than woman and facelifts had given them very tight faces. It made them look more like living dolls than women.
"That...must have been expensive," said the interviewer.
"Which makes it little wonder that their ex-employer went bankrupt," said Fabina, "Fortunately, we've been able to remove the artificial materials in their bodies before they converted."
"And how are they doing now?" asked the interviewer.
Fabina pointed at the African-American and said, "Barb here is rather prickly about the ordeal she's been through. It's not really a surprise that she decided to become a horny toad."
"Pardon?"
"As in a Texas horned lizard," amended Fabina, "But we have clothing to accommodate her spikes." What she didn't mention was that Barb had quite a dominatrix streak that she was indulging in. Amos had quite a shock when her real personality came out. Fabina wondered what Barb would have been like it she became the even spikier thorny devil of Australia. But at least Amos wasn't lonely now.
"I suppose the others went for easier choices," said the interviewer.
"Depending on your point of view," said Fabina before pointing at the brunette, "Holly wanted to be a reindeer."
"Isn't that a little season?" asked the interviewer.
"Caribous exist all year long," said Fabina, "Holly wouldn't choose a caribou if she didn't want to be that 365 days of the year." What Fabina didn't mention was that Holly went for an extra feature and became a herm as well. Apparently she had gender disassociation or whatever the proper term was called. Fabina only didn't mention because that could be a touchy subject to say on live TV and Holly could decide for hirself when shi wanted to come out.
"And what about the last one?" asked the interviewer, pointing at the Latina.
"Ah, well, Quetzal is a bit of an odd one," said Fabina, "She's always believed that she was destined for something great. But she never had much of a clear idea of what that destiny is supposed to be. It's made her a bit suggestible, which is how I suspect she ended up falling in with that particular crowd. But she has a clear goal in mind now."
"Let me guess," said the interviewer, "She's become a quetzal bird."
"You know, we all expected that too," said Fabina, "She was probably going to become a resplendent quetzal at first. But apparently she had heard some things regarding summer plans, particularly the Around-the-World-in-Eighty-Days tour. We're still looking for someone to be our albatross, but she's volunteered to be our Quetzalcoatlus."
"That's the largest pterosaur ever found, right?" asked the interviewer.
"There has been some argument about that," said Fabina, "Some particular specimens found bigger than others and such. But I think the general consensus is that Quetzalcoatlus is the largest."
"Won't that cause...housing trouble?" asked the interviewer.
"That's precisely why Dinosaur City was founded," said Fabina, "Not to mention, Dinotopians aren't nearly as large as their prehistoric counterparts. You just have to look at our sauropods and theropods to prove it."
"And I understand that Dinosaur City doesn't have the same, er, adult services as Lyre," said the interviewer.
"Texas has different laws than Nevada," said Fabina, "And I don't really mind if Quetzal pursues a new career. I won't keep people in jobs they aren't happy with. There's more than enough to make up for her. Not everyone entered the adult entertainment service because they wanted to, after all."
"Well said," said the interviewer, "Anything else you'd like to add."
"That we hope that we'll be able to open more fully as vaccination gets around," said Fabina, "And we hope things will be back to normal by the time of the Animalia Games."
