As the mansion faded from view, the city came into view. The creature carried her through the streets before stopping in front of a building labeled “Daisy Day Daycare”. Marcia’s sense of horror was renewed. The creature climbed through an open window then proceeded to stalk through the building. Eventually, it entered a room full of cribs. Almost tenderly, it placed Marcia in one of the cribs.
“Why?” Marcia whispered to it. The creature merely stroked Marcia’s head in response. It put a pacifier in Marcia’s mouth and handed her a stuffed animal. Then, it left. The adrenaline rush that had kept Marcia alert abruptly disappeared. She promptly fell asleep.
When Marcia woke up, she was still the only person in the room. She sat up, wondering if she woke up before the daycare opened. However, as she moved, she heard a loud crinkle and realized that her clothes were different. Instead of the old-fashioned dress she’d worn when she fell asleep, she was now in a soft pink onesie. And, after a quick investigation, she found that her cloth diaper had been replaced with a thick disposable one.
Clearly, the daycare had already opened for the day, and whoever came in gave her a change. Marcia grimaced, suddenly worried by the change that she had used her diaper in her sleep. Before she could do much else, the door opened. A teenage girl entered. She beamed.
“The little mystery girl is up!” the teenager cooed. She picked Marcia up. We’ll get some food in you right after we talk to the boss, okay?”
Jessica brought Marcia out of the room and carried her through the building. She entered an office, where a middle-aged woman sat at a desk.
“Ah, she’s up,” the woman said. Jessica nodded. “Great. I’ve contacted the police and CPS already, but hopefully she can help us figure out how she appeared here in the middle of the night.” Jessica sat down by the desk with Marcia in her lap. “What’s your name, sweetie?” the woman asked Marcia.
“Martha,” Marcia mumbled.
“Martha,” the woman repeated. Marcia’s eyes widened. Because of her lisp, the woman heard the wrong name! “Martha, do you know how you got here?”
“Carried by monther,” Marcia answered.
“Her mother dropped her off…interesting…” the woman said under her breath. “Hmm.” Marcia’s stomach rumbled again. “Go ahead and feed her, Jessica. I can get her myself if I want to ask her further questions.”
“Understood.” Jessica carried Marcia out of the office. “We’ll fill your little belly right up!” Jessica cooed, tickling Marcia’s stomach.
Without warning, Marcia’s new toddler body kicked in, and the tickling caused her to…
