Bruce and Janet Williams sit in separate hospital beds looking at each other. Bruce is 97 years old and Janet is 96 years old. They have known each other since they were little kids. Janet and Bruce were supposed to get married after high school but Bruce felt a duty to serve in the war. Janet always feared losing her soulmate but thankfully he survived. After that Bruce went back to school and became an accountant and earned a CPA and CMA. Once he started working, Janet went back to school and became a paralegal. Once they had jobs they finally got married. They welcomed their son and daughter Michael and Emily to the world and had a perfect family life. They have met and watched their grandchildren grow up. They have even met their great-grandchildren. Bruce and Janet have made good investments and have enjoyed a comfortable retirement. Even though they have had nasty fights it only made them stronger and they couldn't imagine life without each other.
When they entered their late 80’s both started to get into some health problems. Bruce has debilitating arthritis and suffered multiple strokes and Janet has Parkinson's disease. The whole family decided an assisted living facility would be good for the couple as they could get medical help and stay together. Then the water supply got tainted and they are rushed to the underground hospital where they currently are.
