Jared, Rick and Martin were not enthused about the weekend. Jared's girlfriend, Jackie, and her bestie Sarah had found that the local summer camp was offering a unique weekend for adults only. It would pause its normal kid-centered clientele and invite adults to stay in the cabins, play on the beach and let out their inner child for a weekend while getting to meet the local wild life in a unique and intimate setting.
The girls agreed it was a unique and fun idea and pushed the boys to tag along. Jared, wipped as he was, was the first to agree and subsequently pressured the other two to come along. Martin, seeing an opportunity for a weekend with his crush Sarah consented and Rick, not wanting to be left behind, relented as well.
The 5 were packed into Jared's run down station wagon and slowly pulled into the camp. As they drove down the dusty entry road a large sign loomed over head.
CAMP CRITTERCREEK
Painted next to the bold letters were various images of anthropomorphic animals dressed in scouting uniforms, including a cute raccoon, a cougar and even a shy looking anthro blue jay. The animals were variously playing, exploring or just enjoying the great outdoors.
Pulling up, Jackie took out a list of instructions.
"It says here the boys are in cabin 5 and us girls are in cabin 6" she read
"Did they really have to separate boys and girls....its not like we're 5 any more" Said Rick, still generally unenthused about being dragged along.
"Aw, cheer up grumpy!" Said Jackie " Its all part of the experience!"
Jackie's attitude did little to cheer Rick, and even seemed to make him all the more grumpy.
After parking, the group split, each heading to their respective cabins.
