A nine-tailed kitsune Vixen. Or as Jeff's new memories claimed, the only kitsune with nine tails ever.
While she looked mostly human, her ears were triangular things covered in red fur on top of her head, and had nine long fluffy white tipped red tails flowing from what would be the end of her spine if she was human. She had lithe athletics muscles, long flowing hairs as red as her fur, green eyes and C-cup breasts, despite her face looking mostly Japanese. But that's only what people can see, she also know each of her abs are tipped with more fox-like teats.
Jeff, or rather Emika, was now an ancient being born when humanity barely started writing. All kitsunes were longer lived than humans, the more tails they have the more they have magic, and the more magic they have the longer they live (and the slower they age once adult). That's why the more tails they have the higher is their place in their society. As the nine-tail, Emika Hikari-Kendrick was not only eternally looking 20, but straight out immortal. It also made her empress of the Ushinawa archipelago, and sole leader of her species. She would gladly give her crown to someone else and live an ordinary life, but unlike her, most 8 and 7 tailed kitsune don't care for what they consider "lesser" beings.
Emika met Mike totally by accident, while she was taking a short vacation in the U.S.A. disguised as an ordinary human thanks to her magic. They hit it off and the hiding nine-tails got so interested in this human she kept finding excuses to go back to him. Once it was clear she was serious about Mike, and since he seemed to feel the same, she decided to reveal her true identity. It was a shock and he didn't know how to respond at first, but once it was clear Emika was still the same while undisguised, he finally accepted to officially date the eternal empress and, eventually, marry her. Sure, she had many husband before him, and would probably have many more after he died, but right now she wanted to be part of his life, and that was all that counted.
When he first presented his new girlfriend to his children, Emika and Mike had decided the kitsune would do it disguised as a human for the time being, only revealing the truth once the kids got used to her. The harder part was to convince them to keep calling her Emika and not whatever humans usually call an empress for a foreign country. Of course, her wedding with their father mean David and Katie would have to adapt to living in a palace, and to participate in some of the traditional events, for which they wild have to wear the most cumbersome ceremonial clothes her peoples ever made: imperial kitsune clothing.
That said, they wouldn't have to wear anything like that today. It was a Saturday evening, which mean Emika had been free for the day and even her was wearing a surprisingly casual outfit. Wanting to do something to her step-children adapt and feel at home in their new environment, and so had asked the palace chiefs to prepare pizza according to her new family's preferences. Although, the fact that the private part of the palace had practically none of the fast one would expect, being more in line with Emika's wish for an ordinary life, also helped.
Emika's also worried about how uprooting Katie and David would impact them, especially since it would mean separating them from their friends and plunging them into the culture of a country where your standing depend on how much tails you have, even though a third of Ushinawa's native population is human, not realizing that most her kids' old friends had tried to exploit their connections with foreign nobility as soon as they learned of it.
Everyone was sitting around the table, waiting for the palace kitchen staff to bring the pizza.
The small part of Emika that was still Jeff was surprised that her father's ideal wife was the eternal empress of a mystical species she was sure didn't exist before her use of the Chronivac, and a bit peeved to suddenly find herself immortal. But the larger part of her had lived for so long she couldn't imagine suddenly starting to grow old. Sure, each time one of her husband, children or step-children died, it pained her profoundly, but like all kitsunes she had a perfect memory, meaning they would always be remembered, a small part of them living through her memories.
But what worried Emika was that, when Jeff programed the Chronivac to turn himself into her, he specified that they would only be Mike's ideal wife from 18:00 to 06:00, and turn back into Jeff the rest of the time. How would it affect the world? Would her country and species keep being phased in and out of existence, or would everything continue as if nothing had changed? And in the second case, who would accomplish her imperial duties?
