After the third week of Doc being gone without so much as a note or postcard, Molly his housekeeper and maid began to pick about his belongings. Whatever happened to the Doc, she was going to get something for her back pay.
Having had to dust around the heavy black leather bound book laying spread out and open on the dinning rooom table, Molly thought this might have value. Scooping it up as she left that day she headed for the village and its one small book store.
That bright tinkle of a small silver bell announced to Fran of someone coming to pause, look, and maybe buy.
Molly offered the book she had to Mr. Fran asking for an handsome price of $50.
At first Mr. Fran eyed the old book thinking it worthless due to the aged cover. It was when the book was opened his eyes widened and he grabbed for the fifty bucks.
Now the Tome was in new hands and having caused some to vanish it was soon to make Mr. Fran wish he'd not bought the thing.
He watched as Molly took the money and then stood by looking at the books on one table. Mr. Fran paged through the book's many spells laughing to himself as he planned who he'd unload the boook to a new owner.
"You have any Bunny novels?" asked dear sweet blonde Molly.
"Bunny novels?" replied Mr. Fran.
"Yes, you know, novel written by playboy bunnies of their exploits as models!" said Molly.
Mr. Fran shook his head while as if by some divine providence he looked down as the page flipped open.
