Gazing at the screen, Janet contemplated what to do to her photo next. Her gaze snagged on a folder listed "Animal Filters" and she stopped scrolling, intrigued. The menu pulled up a whole list of mammals, birds, reptiles... almost anything she could think of! And there was even a sub-folder marked "Mythical!"
"I've got to see what I'd look like as a cute, little kitty-cat" she thought to herself as she clicked on the option. This time the photo seemed to shimmer as the filter took effect, going a bit fuzzy before some type of animation pulled her features into a more feline appearance. Numbers flashed above the photo, along with a slider bar. Right now it was about a quarter of the way from the left end and the numbers read "30%"
In the photo, Janet's face was puffy around her upper lip, which was now bisected by a small slit that connected to her upturned nose. Two pointy canine teeth peeked out of either side of her distorted mouth, and she could see the tips of furry ears poking out of her hair near the top of her head. Looking closer, she could see that her pupils had become vertical slits, no longer round like a human's would be. Her eyes looked slightly bluish, too, instead of her usual brown.
She clicked to drag the bar further to the right, eager to see what else the filter would change if she increased the percentage.
Dragging the bar up to 55%, Janet watched raptly as the changes took effect. In the photo, her long brown hair shimmered and seemed to fade away, leaving just a short mop around her head, almost like a shaggy pixie-cut. "Ooo, that's CUTE!" she gasped, once again making a mental note for her next salon appointment. Distracted by her hair and face, she didn't notice much of how her shoulders seemed to slim-down under her clothes; the photo was only from her chest up, so changes to the body didn't show as much on the screen. She watched as her nose broadened and flattened a bit as it's tip took on a rougher texture, while her mouth pushed out into a short muzzle and long whiskers sprouted from her upper lip. Her eyes grew even larger, becoming rounder while also tilting up at the outside corners. The blue irises almost seemed to glow as the grew to fill her eyes, pushing out any white at the edges and loosing any trace of brown.
Taking in the whole picture, she was surprised to see a long tail sticking up from behind her in the photo. It was covered in dark brown hair that matched the hair on her head and new cat-ears, and it had a sassy tilt to the tip where it had appeared over her right shoulder.
