The four new dolls happily skipped about. There were so many sights to see, so many things to do. A movie showing countless classic (meaning public domain) cartoons, a garden with giant flowers, an art museum, a candy shop of all things (not that any of them had any money anyway), and countless other things.
Then the orange deer doll Maple felt a wave of inspiration go through her. "Hey! Let's check out the water show!"
There was no argument or consideration, the other three dolls merely said, "Okay!"
So the four dolls headed straight for the huge water complex. A giant transparent plastic sphere looking like a glorified fish bowel with audience seats connected by transparent tubs to countless smaller ones. And inside were other sexless rubber dolls, with the upper body of female humanoid animals, but the lower bodies of mermaids.
The four dolls began to close in on the entrance, other dolls filling in with them.
It was so natural, so right, for the four of them to mingle with the crowd of naked rubber, no shame, no humiliation, there were dolls after all, what should they feel such things?
As they four dolls began to enter, they heard, "Excuse me! You! The orange deer doll! You've been specially chosen for some extra fun!" It was a dark blue wolf doll girl... except, her lower body was that of a mermaid.
"Really?!" Maple declared.
"Yes really! But it's take it or leave it! It's a surprise! But don't worry, we're all sisters here, we're all dolls, we can trust each other, our owner says so."
The four dolls felt a tingle, yes, if their owner said they could trust each other, of course they could.
"Just come with me please!" said the sea-wolf as she reached out her arms, Maple didn't even hesitate as she took them.
"Congratulations!" said Sunny making a triangle symbol with her feet as she held herself up by her hands.
"Have fun!" Said Violet!
"You're so lucky," said Bouncy.
Maple waved at the other dolls as she was pulled under. For a moment she panicked, but this quickly faded away... she was a doll, she wasn't alive, she was a toy, why should she worry about needing to breath?
She was pulled along quickly in the tubs by the sea-wolf until she came to a globe underneath the giant globe.
Other mer-dolls quickly floated around her, and quick a quick 'pop!' sound, Maple's legs cleanly snapped off. She didn't have any bones or blood inside her, just solid orange plastic.
"Hey! I need those!" Called out Maple seeing her disconnected legs tossed into a bin with several other doll legs. Of course, this just showed she didn't really have lungs as she didn't make bubbles,, and the vibrations her voice made ripple through the water.
"Are you sure?" said a sea--mermaid doll, as she snugly connected a matching orange mermaid tail to Maple hips, seamlessly fusing.
Maple felt an electric tingle go through her. She giggled. "You're right. I DON'T need those! Why would I need those silly things?"
"That's the spirit!" The seal mermaid doll cheered slapping Maple on the back. Other additions were made to Maple, webbing on her hooved hands, fins on her arms and another fin on her backside were all seamless connected to her like they'd always been there.
"You've been selected to be part in our show for all your sisters," said the sea-wolf. "And I have to say you make a perfect mermaid doll, it's what you were meant to be."
Maple nodded with smile as she floated at attention her hand together at her waist. "If that's what my owner says I am, then that's what I am, as a proper toy should be."
"Just do what comes natural and follow the rest of the school, this is your first time so you'll be doing mostly back up performance," explained the white seal doll.
"My pleasure!" Maple declared as her school began to swim.

The three dolls, Bouncy, Sunny, and Violet sat in the seats together smiling. The pretty flashing colors, the beautiful spiral patterns the merdolls swam in, it made the three of them standing in line and waiting all worth it, the three of them paying no particular mind to the orange deer merdoll swiming with the rest. The three happy they'd thought to see the water show first.
