Busily typing on her computer in a state of high concentration Dannie knew that she had to get this report on Mr Simpson’s business dealings done for him within the hour if she hoped to be able to leave early with him today. Dannie was so concentrated on her work that she didn’t even see Mr Simpson sneak out of his office through the glass doors and tiptoe up to the front of her desk. “Dannie” announced Mr Simpson softly causing her to jump in her seat with a high-pitched yelp as her eyes caught the sight of her boss in front of her desk looking intently at her.
Brushing her long ginger hair out of her eyes while breathing rapidly Dannie calmed down rather quick given her fright. “Oh Mr Simpson you startled me” stammered Dannie with a open-mouthed smile forming on her lips as she stared intently into the handsome eyes of her dreamy boss that she was not ashamed to admit she had a huge crush on. “I’m very sorry Dannie, I didn’t mean to startle you but I wanted you to know I think you’re doing a wonderful job.” Dannie gushed at this complement as her cheeks turned red “oh Mr Simpson you didn’t scare me too badly and thank you for the compliment it means a lot.” Smiling himself Pete put the next phase of his inquiry into motion “Dannie another thing I’d like to ask you is I saw you looking a little unsure of yourself earlier and I wanted to know if you’re feeling OK?” Feeling weak-headed at the thought of her boss thinking about her so intently and genuinely Dannie continued to blush as she answered “Oh thank you for thinking of me Mr Simpson but I feel fine really. I waited to long earlier to moisten myself with the spray bottle on my desk here and wanted to finish your report and in effect was feeling too dry, but I learned from my mistake and feel like my old self again” as she motioned at her scale-covered body and adorned breasts with one of her hands.
Thinking that his original writing had worked in erasing memories of her old life and replacing them with ones of being a mermaid Pete would have fist-bumped himself mentally if he could have as now he didn’t have to ever deal with Dannie’s complaints ever again and he had a sexy mermaid as a secretary to entertain him from his office. An added bonus to the situation was that no one would think anything was strange with a real-life mermaid working in the office as he had changed reality to fit the narrative as well. “I’m glad your OK Dannie but I need you to be better at watching your moisture level as the aquarium is several miles away and I don’t want to have to rush you over there for submergence in an emergency” said Pete. “Oh I would never let it get to that level Mr Simpson you have my word. You have done so much for me I wouldn’t want to risk your friendship or my position. Ever since I left my people in the ocean to see the world as a entertainer at the aquarium I have been struggling financially and you have given me this wonderful opportunity to prove myself in a human role and I will never be able to repay you.” This had turned out better then Pete had hoped as he beamed a smile at Dannie and finished the conversation with “Think nothing of it Dannie, finish up that report and I’ll drive you back to the aquarium.” Turning around and heading back into his office behind him he heard the rhythmic typing of keys and Dannie answering “yes Mr Simpson right away.”
