Plastic Girl Reunion

added by Alphagor 2 years ago O

Moving to Dinosaur City was a pretty big adjustment for Quetzal, almost as much of an adjustment as becoming a Quetzalcoatlus. Despite movies and TV portraying pterosaurs as giant prehistoric birds who could easily snatch people off the ground, many pterosaurs were pretty small. Quetzalcoatlus was an exception. While there was a little argument about whether Quetzalcoatlus was the biggest pterosaur, there was no doubt it was a giant. Quetzal didn't grow quite that large. 10 feet was more than enough height for her, most of that coming from her long giraffe-like legs and neck. As such, the move to Dinosaur City was necessary since it was scaled more to suit the likes of her.

Quetzal's only real regret is that she left before she could meet up with Barb and Holly after their conversions. Traveling back to Nevada would be such a hassle, especially with stricter travel regulations coming into effect because of the pandemic. But modern technology is able to remedy that easily. Webchats are becoming an increasingly used commodity since social distancing became so important. It took a bit of arrangement for a time when the three can be online at once.

Quetzal had to adjust her seat a bit as she sat at the computer. The keyboard was bigger so that would able to use it with her bigger hands. It was also made with a stronger plastic so she wouldn't end up getting computer keys stuck on her new talons. The biggest problem was angling her long neck so she can see the monitor and be sure that the webcam would be able to get her head.

Presently, she saw her two friends on the screen. Barb and Holly looked so much different as a horned lizard and a reindeer respectively, but Quetzal was pretty unrecognizable herself. At least her friends still had their human hair. "Hey girls," she said, "You look great." Holly cleared hir throat a bit. "Oh, right, you're not all girl now," said Quetzal.

"Yep, she finally got her dream to be a man. Well, at least close enough to one," said Barb, "So, Holly, how's it like being a herm?"

Holly shrugged and said, "It's good." Holly was one of those quieter people, the kind who never talked more than they need to. It's rare that shi used more than three words at a time. But that was fine for Barb and Quetzal. They've known plenty of people who would talked too much. It was a refreshing change to have some one who talked too little.

"And you're looking good too," said Barb to Quetzal, "I know you were going to be a big flying lizard, but I guess I never really pictured how big you'd get."

"Truthfully, I feel more like a bird than a lizard," said Quetzal, "These pycnofibers are more like feathers than scales for me."

"Still look good," said Holly.

"So, how has your scales been treating you?" asked Quetzal.

"Well, it's an adjustment," said Barb, "I need stronger fabrics, particularly bed sheets. I have to be a little more careful where I'm sitting. But it's not like I'm a porcupine."

"And I hear you've already got a boyfriend," said Quetzal.

"Sorta," said Barb, "Amos is interested, but he seems scared of me wanting to do things my way. He seems to think 'dominatrix' means 'S&M'."

"That's silly," said Holly.

"I know, right? Just because a woman wants to be dominant doesn't mean she's going to torture her man. But he thinks I want to make him a gimp," said Barb.

"What's a gimp?" asked Holly.

"Uh...look it up later," said Barb, "But seriously, you think a big, strong bodybuilder wouldn't be so scared of a little pain."

"Well, perhaps if you explained what your view of domination is," said Quetzal, "If you want to make it work with him, you shouldn't force him into something he doesn't understand."

"I guess I'll work on that later. Now what about you?" asked Barb.

"Can you fly?" asked Holly. It's been something that they've been in suspense about. While Quetzalcoatlus was often declared the largest flyer to ever live, there have been some theories that suggested that it wasn't the great flyer it was alleged to be.

"Yes, I can fly," said Quetzal. The other girls gave a sigh of relief. "I tested with Sophie and Roland after they came back to Texas. It took a while to really get going, but I can definitely stay in the air."

"Guess all those scientists who say your big wings should be useless were wrong," said Barb smugly.

"Well, perhaps not," said Quetzal, "Keep in mind, I'm not a true Quetzalcoatlus. I'm considerably smaller and built differently. I might just have enough smaller mass to make flight possible."

"Those big wings don't lie," said Holly with conviction. Shi certainly felt strong enough to use such a long sentence.

"Well, it would seem pointless if Quetzalcoatlus had big flightless wings. Maybe they flew more when they were younger and got more terrestrial when they got older," said Quetzal.

"Ancient history, not yours," said Holly.

"Somebody's being a chatterbox today," said Barb, bemusedly. Holly just gave a shrug, hir blush hidden by hir fur. "So, now that you can fly, what are you going to do?" asked Barb.

"Well, I'm going to be training for that Flight Around the World tour," said Quetzal, "When summer comes, I want to be able to handle flying across oceans."

"Isn't there someone supposed to be flying with you?" asked Barb.

"Albatross," said Holly.

"I hear that one of the 'hippies' at Mieni Atoll decided to become one instead of a fish," said Quetzal, "I guess I'll meet him later."

"Ok, but besides flying, what else are you going to do?" asked Barb.

"Well...I'm thinking of dyeing my pycnofibers," said Quetzal, "This brown and white's just a little too drab for me."

"Let me guess, you're going to try looking like a quetzal bird," said Barb.

"Well, only like a female resplendent quetzal," said Quetzal, "Not too flashy."

"Still pretty flashy," commented Holly.
