"Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh!" Doris was in near hysterics as she gazed at the preteen version of herself. How could this be possible? People dont just magically turn into child sized versions of themselves.
Approaching the mirror as if to confirm it truely was her, Doris's heart sank. She recognized the sixth grader staring back. Round innocent face, long ebony hair, even the large brown eyes it was definitely her. Looking over the rest of herself Doris could only flinch at her juvenile proportions. "God I look like one of my sons classmates," she whispered, scrunching up her face as she listened to the childish tenor of her voice.
Doris now took a deep breath, their had to be a way to fix this. Grasping her now loose yoga pants the preteen began to trudge towards the help desk. As she saw Sandy once more she tried to sprint towards the woman, only to stumble in her now too large sneakers and loose pants.
"Sandy, Sandy," she whined, trying to keep her balance. The beautiful 20 something turned, a knowing look on her face. "Seems like someone got a bit carried away," she smiled.
"Just a little," Doris mumbled, her cheeks burning with embarrassment. Sandy had been a bit taller than her when she was an adult. Now the woman appeared Amazonian, Doris couldnt help feel just a little embarrassed, reduced to a child and standing next to a curvaceous young woman made her feel incredibly small.
Sandy smiled, leaning down to Doris and making her feel that much more like a child. "This happens more often than you think," she said, as she examined Doris's necklace. "Let me help you out."
Doris stayed perfectly still as the woman now undid her necklace. "There you go," she smiled. "All better."
Doris wasnt sure what changed until she felt a wave of dizziness overcome her. Blinking her eyes Doris now looked at Sandy, shocked to see they were relatively the same size again. "What just happened? Am I an adult again?"
Sandy nodded, showing off the necklace that was around Doris's neck. "Yeah once the necklace is removed all changes are reset," she said. "They only become permanent if you leave the gym without removing the necklace."
Doris nodded, still stunned by her momentary return to childhood. "If you like I can help you with any of our equipment," Sandy said happily. "Ove had some experience dealing with things around here. Sometimes some of our new patrons feel more comfortable if someone is there with them."
Doris smiled, thanking Sandy. The only question was what to try next.
