Before Belle could take even a single step forward, her nerve failed her. The bustling airport and all the travelers were too big. She was just a little girl now. Deciding that she did prefer being a man without luggage and in soaking clothes, she turned around and pulled on the handle of the door to Traveler’s Aid. To her surprise, it opened easily. She had not been expecting that.
Belle slipped back into Traveler’s Aid. Morton caught sight of her immediately.
“Did you get lost, Belle?” he asked.
“No. I want to go back to my old self. Even though I’ll be soaked and won’t have luggage,” Belle said. Morton sighed.
“Well, I’m sorry, sweetie, but that option went out the door the moment you did. You’ll just have to go enjoy your new vacation.”
“What? No!”
“It doesn’t matter how much you tell me ‘no’, you can’t change reality.” Morton walked over to her and removed her wristband.
“Why’d you take my wristband?” Belle asked. “I thought you weren’t going to change my vacation.”
“I’m not. But you’re clearly not capable of going on your flight unaccompanied. So, while you’re in the airport and on the plane, someone will be with you to supervise you.” Morton poked Belle’s nose. “Don’t worry, once you arrive at your destination, your new vacation will be back on track.”
“Who’s- who’s going to accompany me?” Belle asked timidly.
