In the dim light, your first thought is that your lower body had been consumed by some sort of draped cloth. You crane your neck a bit closer and realize that what you thought were vertical pleats are actually individual latex feathers. Turning your attention, and your head, back around, you begin to push yourself up off the damp soil.
"Human," asked Tex, flitting over to you. "Are you still yourself?"
Tentatively you raise your upper body and feel your knee slide under you. Your other foot follows close behind and you slowly raise yourself to standing. You expected that there would be pain, based on how hard you'd fallen, but there is just some stiffness in your legs.
At first, you feel another wave of vertigo that you attribute to your longer neck, but, when you look down, you can confirm that your legs have become about a foot longer and thinned out. They still have the look of human flesh, but there is also a bit of texture that is unfamiliar. Stooping a bit, you rub a palm against your now hairless leg and feel the dry, bumpy texture. Only then do you notice that you only see three thick toes on each of your feet. They look like fleshy sausages and each one ends in a sharp (though blunt) latex talon. It appears as if your big toes have shifted to the rear, extending from what would be your heels. You're about to look more closely at the projection extending from your rear, when something cold and clammy clamps onto your shoulder. Your head bobs upward and you emit a shriek from your latex beak.
