Chanel tests the wand

added 2 years ago I O

Going back in time, Chanel opened the package to find the wand that she had ordered the day before. It was a simple looking thing and she highly doubted that it was real, but since it came with her order of books of esoteric knowledge for free, it didn’t hurt her wallet in any way. Though even if it wasn’t real, it wouldn’t hurt to try to cast a spell or two, she was still 14 after all so being a little childish was still appropriate.

Now Chanel was of slim build like her older sister with a chest that barely counted as A cups, breast genes were low in the family it seemed. She had black hair, inherited from her father, that was styled into a medium length bob cut. She took care of herself so that she seemed like a normal, pretty, and quiet kind of girl. None would suspect that she dabbled into the studies and history of the hidden magical world. Secret societies and undercover cults interested her like a feverish desire. She wanted to be a researcher, but not of mundane subjects. Thus leading to her ordering obscure books of study, and the free trinket.

Chanel waved the want with a firm hand, the green leaf at the end fluttering softy, and pointed at her pillow, “Move!”

At once the white puffy pillow shuttered and squirmed like a living creature, trying to move but without kinds it could only undulate despairingly in place. This of course made Chanel fall backwards onto her butt in silent fright, clutching the wand tight. First, she had not expected her command to work. Second, she had not expected the spell to work in the way that it did, even if magic was real. In her mind the pillow was just supposed to float or glide across the bed, not move like a dying animal. Magic from her knowledge was supposed to be subtle, and slight. But as she stared on at the unnatural movements of her magically possessed head cushion, it was evident that there was nothing subtle about the wand’s magical abilities.

Pointing the wand with both hands at the suffering headrest Chanel ordered it to stop. The thing stopped moving erratically, but it still lifted up and down slowly as if it was breathing. Chanel was ecstatic now that that fear had passed, she had a powerful object of limitless possibilities in her possession. She wondered what to do with this wand and if she should tell her older sister or Tristian about it.
